The rain grew heavier.
Maya held the letter close to her heart.
Without thinking, she grabbed her umbrella and ran.
Past the crowded streets.
Past the traffic lights.
Past the places that had changed over the years.
Until she reached the old bus stop.
It looked exactly the same.
The rusted roof.
The worn-out bench.
The sound of raindrops echoing on the metal roof.
Maya stood there, breathing heavily.
No one was there.
She smiled sadly.
"What was I expecting?" she whispered.
Just as she turned to leave...
A familiar voice spoke behind her.
"You're late."
Maya froze.
Slowly, she turned around.
There he was.
Arjun.
Standing in the rain with the same warm smile.
But this time...
He looked different.
More real.
More alive.
"Arjun..." Maya whispered.
He nodded gently.
"I kept my promise."
Maya ran toward him and hugged him tightly.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke.
Only the rain spoke for them.
Finally, Maya looked into his eyes.
"Is this a dream?"
Arjun smiled.
"I don't know."
"But if it is..."
"I don't want to wake up," Maya finished.
They both laughed.
At that moment, the rain slowly stopped.
A rainbow appeared across the sky.
For the first time...
The rain hadn't brought sadness.
It had brought hope.
