Three months after her book became popular, Maya received an unexpected package.
There was no sender's name.
No address.
Only a single sentence written on the brown paper:
"Some stories are not finished yet."
A strange feeling passed through her.
Slowly, she opened the package.
Inside was an old notebook.
Her heart stopped.
It was the notebook she had lost on the day of the accident.
The same notebook she believed had disappeared forever.
Her hands trembled as she opened it.
Most of the pages were familiar.
The sketches.
The stories.
The rain stains.
But near the back, she found something she had never seen before.
A folded letter.
Written in Arjun's handwriting.
The date on top made her freeze.
One day before the accident.
With shaking fingers, Maya unfolded the paper.
The letter began:
"Dear Maya,
If you're reading this, it means something unexpected has happened.
You always laugh when I talk about fate. But lately, I have a strange feeling that time is running out.
So I wanted to leave something behind.
If I ever disappear, don't spend your life looking for me.
Instead, keep writing.
Because stories are stronger than time.
And because every page you write keeps a part of us alive."
Tears blurred Maya's vision.
Then she noticed something written at the very bottom.
A sentence she had never read before.
"If the rain ever brings me back, meet me where our story began."
Maya's heart skipped a beat.
