A/N : It will be like simultaneous existence where Ash can be at Mogar and Marvel anytime he wishes
******
Finally, at night, Ash got the chance to try his ability.
Lying on his bed, he closed his eyes and activated Traveller.
He was in a hurry because, according to the information provided by his ability, it did not pause time in his current world while he traveled to another one.
Unlike many multiverse novels he had read in his previous life, time would continue moving normally in every world connected to him.
For Ash, it would be like a piece of his consciousness leaving his current body and traveling to a different world.
Once there, it would occupy another body and become a second version of himself.
He could control either body whenever he wanted.
When he actively controlled one body, the other would continue acting on its own.
However, since both bodies shared the same mind and memories, there was no risk of them becoming different people.
It was a strange feeling.
Almost like creating an avatar.
Except the avatar was a real person.
A real body.
A real life.
And at any moment, Ash could switch which one he considered his main body.
The moment he activated Traveller, he felt something inside him stir.
A strange sensation spread through his mind.
Then a small fragment of his consciousness separated from the rest.
Ash felt his vision blur.
The room around him faded away.
Darkness swallowed everything.
And his journey to another world finally began.
Just unlike last time, he was traveling while fully conscious of himself.
"This is fucking cool," Ash muttered as he found himself moving through a tunnel of light.
Countless streams of light flashed past him at incredible speed.
"I wonder what kind of world this will be. Please be a magical one," he mumbled.
Soon, the tunnel came to an end.
The next moment, he opened his eyes.
He found himself in the body of a child.
His entire body was wrapped in bandages as he lay on a bed.
"The fuck? Once again a kid?"
Ash looked down at himself.
"And judging by my body, I feel like I'm even younger than I was in Marvel."
He looked around the room, trying to figure out where he was.
Suddenly, his vision darkened.
He lost consciousness once again.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself standing in a vast white expanse.
"What is this?" he muttered.
Almost immediately, information appeared in his mind.
"I see."
Ash nodded.
This was his Soul Sea.
And now, the second function of Traveller had finally activated.
Ash quickly reviewed the information.
The second ability hidden within Traveller was called Recall.
It allowed him to use any ability he possessed sufficient knowledge of.
Of course, such a broken ability came with a limitation.
The more powerful the ability he chose to use, the less power and feedback would be transferred to his other body.
In simple terms, stronger abilities required greater investment and would reduce the benefits shared between his two selves.
"I should first see what kind of world I'm in before choosing an ability," Ash muttered.
After understanding the basics of Recall, he decided not to rush.
He closed his eyes.
The Soul Sea vanished.
The next moment, he returned to reality.
Once again, he found himself in the body of a young boy wrapped in bandages.
"Oh my God, you're awake!"
A surprised voice suddenly sounded nearby.
Ash turned his head.
Standing beside the bed was an elderly woman with kind eyes.
"Fortunately, I found you when I did," she said. "Otherwise, who knows what might have happened to you."
She gently caressed his forehead.
Ash looked at her for a moment before speaking.
"Who are you?"
The woman blinked.
"Who am I?"
Ash frowned and continued.
"Who am I? Where am I?"
The woman's expression immediately changed.
Then Ash grabbed his head and pretended to be in pain.
"Aah..."
The woman quickly moved closer.
For a moment, she seemed stunned.
Then she began moving her fingers in strange patterns while muttering words under her breath.
The sight almost made Ash wonder whether she have gone mad after seeing his acting.
But just then a soft light appeared on her hand.
The glowing light gently touched his forehead.
Ash nearly jumped in excitement.
'Fucking jackpot.'
'I'm really in a magical world!'
He barely managed to keep his excitement hidden while the woman continued using her magic.
A warm sensation spread through his body.
After a few moments, the light faded.
The woman looked confused.
"Strange..."
She placed a hand on her chin.
"All your injuries have already healed."
She looked directly at Ash.
"So why don't you remember anything?"
Ash looked at her and frowned.
"I don't know. Can you tell me who I am?" he asked, looking at her pitifully.
The woman watched him for a few moments.
'Maybe this is a good thing anyway,' she thought.
She remembered the day she had found him.
A merchant caravan had been attacked by bandits. Everyone had been killed.
When she arrived, she found the boy barely clinging to life.
Fortunately, she was a healer.
She had managed to save him.
Afterward, she brought him back to her small clinic, wrapped his body in bandages, and treated his injuries while he recovered.
"It's okay," she said softly. "You can live here from now on."
She gently hugged him.
'Perhaps the Great Mother took pity on me and decided to bless me with a child,' the woman thought.
Ash, meanwhile, wondered who exactly this woman was and what was going on.
Still, he could feel the genuine care she was showing him, so he didn't try to act rude.
A few days passed.
Ash began living with Myra, the woman who had saved him.
She was a healer mage and operated a small clinic in Lusar Village.
It was a beautiful village with a little over thirty households.
The people were friendly, and life was peaceful.
But most importantly, Ash had finally learned where he was.
