Chapter 80 - Chapter 79Every Ending Is Also a Beginning

Mian POV

Autumn arrived quietly.

The leaves in the garden slowly changed from deep green to shades of gold and amber.

I hadn't noticed the seasons changing in years.

Life had always moved too quickly.

Meeting after meeting.

Problem after problem.

Responsibility after responsibility.

Now...

I found myself stopping to watch leaves fall from the old oak tree.

Maybe healing wasn't about changing your life overnight.

Maybe it was simply learning to notice it again.

---

Isle POV

The house no longer felt like it was carrying a storm.

There were still difficult days.

Some mornings Mian woke from old nightmares.

Some afternoons she became unusually quiet.

Healing hadn't erased the past.

It had simply stopped the past from controlling every tomorrow.

One evening I found her in the garden.

"What are you looking at?"

She pointed toward a tiny flower pushing through the soil.

"I planted that weeks ago."

"It finally bloomed."

I smiled.

"You sound proud."

"I am."

She looked at the flower for another moment.

"I think people are a little like gardens."

I raised an eyebrow.

"How?"

"You can't force them to bloom."

The words reminded me of something Robert had once said.

I smiled.

"I think he'd agree with you."

She laughed.

"He'd probably claim it was his idea."

---

Kael POV

Monday morning brought unexpected news.

One of the senior board members submitted his resignation.

The company immediately called an emergency meeting.

"Mian should return," one executive insisted.

Kael remained calm.

"Why?"

"She's the best person for the job."

"I agree."

"Then call her."

Kael folded his hands.

"No."

The room fell silent.

"She's earned the right to have a life outside this company."

Someone objected,

"But what if we fail?"

Kael answered firmly,

"Then we'll learn."

"We've depended on one person for too long."

"If this company cannot function without Mian..."

"Then we've failed her."

No one argued after that.

---

Mian POV

Kael came home late that evening.

"You look tired."

"I survived."

"Bad meeting?"

"The opposite."

He sat across from me.

"I didn't call you."

I looked confused.

"I know."

"They wanted me to."

I stayed silent.

He smiled.

"But I remembered something."

"What?"

"You once told me that strong leaders build people who can replace them."

I blinked.

"I said that?"

"You did."

"So..."

He grinned.

"I finally listened."

For some reason...

That made me happier than I expected.

Maybe because it meant all those years of carrying everything alone...

Hadn't been completely wasted.

---

Robert POV

The video call connected after two rings.

"There you are."

Mian smiled from the screen.

"There you are."

"I have exciting news."

She folded her arms.

"You say that every week."

"This week I actually mean it."

She laughed.

"I'm listening."

"My project is ending early."

Her eyes widened.

"So?"

"So..."

He couldn't stop smiling.

"I'll be home next month."

For a second...

She simply stared.

Then the smile slowly spread across her face.

"Really?"

"Really."

"I guess..."

She laughed softly.

"I should keep your chair ready after all."

"You'd better."

---

The Husband POV

Later that night, he stood in front of the wall of family photographs.

Something was missing.

He disappeared upstairs.

A few minutes later he returned carrying a new framed picture.

It was the sketch Mian had drawn of everyone gathered around the coffee table.

He carefully hung it beside the old photographs.

Not because it was perfect.

Because it represented something the photographs couldn't.

Hope.

Mian walked into the hallway just as he stepped back to admire it.

"You framed it?"

He nodded.

"Our family history shouldn't end years ago."

"It should keep growing."

She looked at the sketch for a long time.

Then quietly whispered,

"I never imagined I'd see my drawings on this wall."

He smiled warmly.

"You should get used to it."

Final Scene – Mian POV

That night I returned to the balcony.

The same balcony where I had once stood convinced everyone would eventually leave.

The same balcony where fear had kept me company for countless nights.

Now...

The fear wasn't gone.

But it was quieter.

I looked toward the stars.

Months ago...

I believed asking for help made me weak.

Today...

I knew better.

It had been the bravest thing I had ever done.

Behind me, the house was filled with soft laughter.

Kael was arguing with Isle over another board game.

The Husband insisted both of them had misunderstood the rules.

Their voices drifted through the open window.

Home.

I smiled.

Not because life had become perfect.

Because it had become real.

Messy.

Complicated.

Loving.

And somehow...

That was even better.

Far away, my phone buzzed with a message.

Robert: One month.

I looked at the glowing screen before typing my reply.

Mian: We'll be waiting.

I pressed send.

Then looked back at the stars.

For the first time in many years...

Waiting no longer felt lonely.

It felt full of possibility.
