Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: The Results

Letter for Violet

Hello, princess. You once said you wanted to become a doctor. It will be very hard, but you're smart, and I'm sure you'll manage and become a wonderful doctor. I have no doubt that we'll all be proud of you.

Amy also decided to read her letter right away.

Letter for Amy

Hello, Mom. I'm almost sure you'll read this letter immediately.

I'm still saddened by the fact that all my attempts to find you a husband led nowhere. I still hope that someone will appear who can warm your heart. You're too good to live your whole life alone.

I've made up my mind and won't be afraid anymore. So soon you'll become a grandmother.

If I do die, you must stay by Lily's side. And if one day a man appears in her life whom she can let into her heart, I hope you won't stand in her way. And if needed — you'll push her toward it.

Lily turned out to be one of those who didn't read the letter.

Several days had passed since Violet came home. All this time, the girl had been with Ray and Lily. Sometimes the little one even slept with them.

Catching a moment when they were alone, Lily, who was in Ray's arms, asked playfully:

"What shall we name our little girl?"

"Why are you so sure it's a girl?" Ray asked with a chuckle.

"I know it might sound strange, but I feel it: we're having a girl," Lily said confidently.

"How do you like the name Jessica Evans?" Ray asked, smiling slightly.

The atmosphere between the couple was broken by Amy, who ran into their room with two envelopes in her hands.

"The reply from the film school came," she said excitedly. "But one of the envelopes is addressed to Ray. As far as I know, only Lily submitted an application."

Taking one of the envelopes, which had his name on it, Ray opened it and read carefully:

"Hello. We know you didn't submit an application for our competition, but the judges decided that you have the potential to become a good actor."

As soon as he finished reading, Lily was very happy and jumped for joy.

"I think we need to call a family council," Ray said calmly.

"I know this worries you, but there's nothing to think about. You'll go together," Amy said firmly. "Rosie and I will look after Violet. So don't worry."

"Mom is right. We'll study together," Lily said. From her tone, it was clear she was very happy about this turn of events.

Even though the ladies had decided everything themselves, a family council for more detailed discussion still took place.

There were no surprises: Rosie, like Amy, said that Ray and Lily should go together.

That same evening, the couple went for a walk. Ray said:

"It'll be very hard for me to fend off your admirers. And how are we going to explain our relationship to our classmates?" he asked jokingly.

"It's simple," Lily laughed. "We'll say I adore cute, chubby funny guys! I don't care what others think."

Chuckling at her words, Ray replied:

"Then I'm very lucky you have such specific preferences."
