The moment those words left his mouth, Earl froze for a second. The later realization hit him harder than expected.
'Crap, I didn't realize I had gotten carried away…' The thoughts crowded his mind, and his entire body stiffened when he noticed Zion's suspicious gaze was locked on him.
"Hey…didn't you hear my question?" Zion sounded a little restless, repeating once again, "I asked, why did you sound like a damn old man?"
Crossing his arms, Zion was leaning against one of the pillars near the bed, bearing a menacing aura which Earl had already sensed.
There was a hint of suspicion flickering in his amber eyes, and honestly…that wasn't entirely Zion's fault. Anybody would find it strange the way he had reacted to him.
In this new world, after getting his miraculous second chance at life, Earl was supposed to play the part of a naive omega teenager while being stuck in his body.
