Zion immediately sensed danger the moment Earl raised his fist, as he quickly took a step back.
"What?!" Zion almost stuttered, trying to come up with a quick explanation. "I wasn't suggesting anything unnatural, but wait…you must've misunderstood my words!"
"Oh, really?" Earl glared at him, pulling his guard up.
"I just want to offer you a place to sleep in my room. That's all I meant!"
A brief, intense silence fell between them the moment Zion uttered aloud, while Earl narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"Why would you bother to do that?" When he raised a skeptical question, Zion furrowed his thick brows.
"Why? Can't you trust me?"
"Of course not!" Earl answered immediately while crossing his arms over his chest. "You were the one who asked the students to splash mop water on me in the morning. Remember that?"
Zion exhaled a long sigh, since he couldn't argue about that being wrong anyway. But scratching his nape, he did sound a little flustered, "That was…just a prank."
