Clarissa POV
I seriously did not understand how he could get even more pathetic than before. Why would he cry over a stupid woman who refused to obey him?
It was exactly because Claudia didn't want to follow through with the demand that everything went to shit!
"Claudia…" Miles murmured. His voice was low, but I was still able to hear it.
I gritted my teeth, thinking about how foolish this man was. If only there was no bailiff between us, I would've clawed his sorry face to make sure that he knew not to betray me.
But I knew better than to make a noise in the courtroom, or else I'd be punished in jail. Those fugly female officers must've been jealous knowing there was a beautiful woman who overshadowed all of them in the women's prison.
I looked at the audience, hoping that my mother would appear with an expensive lawyer to represent me like a hero.
But she was nowhere to be found.
