Although she was acting on Alaric Davenport's request to gain Flora's trust, she knew that only sincerity could truly move another's heart, so she was treating Flora as a genuine friend in every way.
"Have you had breakfast?"
Flora shook her head. "I was in such a hurry to see you that I rushed right over without eating a thing. I was worried you might still be resting or not even awake yet."
Rosalind smiled and patted Flora's hand. "There was no need to rush. It's just a small injury. You're more than welcome to visit anytime."
Flora was even more delighted to hear that and readily agreed.
"If you haven't had breakfast..." Rosalind began, giving Flora a mysterious look, "I have something you've probably rarely tried."
"What is it?" Flora asked, puzzled.
"You'll see in a moment."
A short while later, a servant brought out a plate of roasted sweet potatoes. They looked plain and not particularly appetizing.
Flora was stunned. "This... What is this?"
