Marvin's expression darkened as he instinctively stepped in front of me.
"I'm afraid Lily is right," he said in a low voice, his eyes scanning every rooftop and every corner of the street. Every muscle in his body had gone rigid, like a predator preparing to face another.
I frowned.
"But even if it was Prince Adrian..." I muttered more to myself than anyone else. "The King said he was never this powerful."
The pressure pressing down on the market was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Even from the stories Enzo had told me, Adrian had never possessed an aura capable of suffocating an entire marketplace.
Marvin didn't answer. Instead, he reached for my wrist.
"We have to move," he said firmly. "I've already mind-linked the Beta and the Gamma. They should arrive any minute. Until then, our priority is getting you back to the palace. Whatever this is, the Gamma and the Beta will handle it."
Without waiting for my response, he began leading Lily and me away from the market.
