It had been a few days since Akira had obtained six quirks through his own ability. During that time, All Might had carefully explained everything about how his quirk functioned and had even told him that he could decide the name of his quirk himself if he wished.
Akira didn't say it out loud, but he felt genuinely grateful. All Might was the first person in both of his lives who had ever shown him such kindness and care without expecting anything in return.
Because of that, Akira had made a decision—he would become a hero, not just for himself, but to help carry the burden that All Might bore every day as the Symbol of Peace.
Right now, Akira was inside the training room of Might Tower, undergoing practice under the supervision of Gran Torino. The room was large and reinforced, built to withstand heavy impacts and powerful quirks. Several training dummies were placed around the area, waiting to be destroyed.
Akira took a stance and focused, raising his fist as molten magma began to form around it. The heat distorted the air slightly as he remembered how Akainu from One Piece used magma in combat. Drawing inspiration from that, he clenched his fist tighter.
"Great Eruption," Akira said as he punched forward.
The magma surrounding his fist shot outward in the shape of a massive molten fist, slamming directly into the training dummy. Upon impact, it burst violently, splattering lava everywhere as the dummy melted from the intense heat.
"Ow, ow, ow…" Akira muttered, shaking his hand as the lingering heat began to affect him.
Gran Torino immediately tossed water onto Akira's hand to cool it down. "Control," he said firmly. "You don't need to use every ounce of power in a single attack. Learn to regulate the heat and output."
Akira nodded, mentally reviewing what he knew.
Eruption: The user can produce magma from their body and control it at will. Overuse can lead to overheating of the body.
Type: Emitter.
Taking a breath, Akira decided to switch quirks. Suddenly, eight spider-like limbs sprouted from his back. He used them to latch onto a nearby wall and climbed it effortlessly.
Then, extending his wrist forward, he shot a web and swung across the room like Spider-Man, landing on another wall smoothly.
Spider: Grants the user eight spider legs from their back. The user can shoot webs from their mouth or hands and can crawl on walls like a spider.
Type: Mutant.
Akira deactivated the Spider quirk, causing himself to fall straight down toward a training dummy. Just before impact, his body transformed into that of a powerful gorilla. Using the momentum of the fall, he raised both arms.
"Gorilla Smash!" he said as he slammed both fists down onto the dummy, bending it under the sheer force.
Gorilla: Transforms the user into a gorilla, granting all the attributes of one.
Type: Mutant.
He reverted back to normal just as Gran Torino pressed a button on a remote in his hand. Instantly, walls began rising from the ground, forming a complex maze around Akira.
Akira placed his hand on one of the walls and closed his eyes. A moment later, the entire structure of the maze appeared in his mind like a detailed 3D model, along with faint outlines of everything inside it.
Sensory Radar: After touching a structure, the user emits a small energy wave that maps the entire layout in their mind as a 3D model, including people within range. Maximum range: 500 meters.
Type: Emitter.
Akira began moving through the maze smoothly, navigating it effortlessly. However, suddenly, the lights went out. Gran Torino had turned them off, plunging the entire training room into darkness.
Akira paused for a moment before closing his eyes. When he opened them again, they glowed red, allowing him to see clearly even in complete darkness.
Night Vision: Allows the user to see in near-total darkness as if it were daytime. Can also detect heat signatures and track movement through residual heat. Vulnerable to sudden bright flashes.
Type: Emitter.
With clear vision, Akira continued moving through the maze and quickly located the training dummies. Just as he reached them, he deactivated his night vision quirk as the lights turned back on, and the dummies suddenly activated, beginning to move around rapidly.
Akira stepped forward and spread his hands slightly beside his hips. "Boost," he said.
Red lightning erupted around his body as his speed and strength increased dramatically. He dashed forward instantly, appearing in front of one of the moving dummies and striking it in the jaw, cracking it.
Boost: Doubles the user's physical attributes with each activation by accelerating blood flow and generating kinetic energy. The limit depends on the user's body. The user can also transfer this boost temporarily to others for one minute.
Type: Transformation.
Akira looked at the remaining dummies and decided to push himself further. He focused, channeling the energy of Boost into his hand as red lightning crackled intensely around it. Then, he activated Eruption at the same time.
The magma that formed around his hand was denser, hotter, and far more powerful than before.
"Great Eruption!" he shouted as he punched forward.
This time, the magma fist that shot out was nearly three times larger than before. As it flew forward, Akira spoke again.
"Burst."
The massive magma fist split into four smaller fists mid-air, each one striking a different dummy and burning them upon impact.
Akira panted heavily as he deactivated both quirks and dropped to a seated position, clearly exhausted. Gran Torino walked over and handed him a bottle of water.
Akira drank it gratefully, cooling himself down.
Gran Torino nodded slightly. "You still need to learn control, especially with the destructive output of that magma quirk. But overall… not bad."
Akira gave a small smile. "It's because of Grandpa's training."
Gran Torino smirked, a cheeky grin forming on his face. "Calling me grandpa won't let you slack off in training, kid."
