A Fragile Reunion
Xavier cried again like a baby while hugging him, making the latter confused. His eyes were fixed on Xavier's shoulders as he looked around at where he was, trying to orient himself.
"What is happening? Why are you crying?" Asher asked, trying to understand the situation.
Xavier sniffled, his grip tightening around Asher's shoulders. "It was a long story, Asher, but I am glad that you returned to me." He let out a chuckle that Asher didn't return. The latter's expression was sad as he remembered his last moments at the hospital, fighting desperately to save Xavier, and how he had been stabbed. That was the last thing he saw before everything went dark.
Asher let out a soft moan, and it turned into a scream. "I almost died, Xavier. I almost died."
Xavier grabbed his hands, holding them firmly. "But you didn't. You and our babies are safe. I made sure of that. As I said, no one would take you away from me, not even death itself."
