Zander wasn't sure if he had finally lost his mind because who the hell had a room this terrifying?
His eyes swept across the space, taking in the enormous skulls mounted on the walls like trophies from some forgotten nightmare. The bed shoved into the corner looked less like a place to sleep and more like a cage meant for livestock. The stone floor was cold enough to freeze his feet through his boots.
The entire room felt lifeless.
What made it worse was that Enzo clearly had more than enough money to live somewhere better.
Why stay in a place like this?
Why willingly surround yourself with something so depressing?
The silence stretched until a deep bass voice cut through it.
"Does my room disgust you?"
Zander flinched.
He still wasn't used to that voice.
Not because it was frightening, but because it belonged to someone he no longer recognized.
