Chapter 151 - One Hundred and Fifty: Return to the Heir

Darkness swallowed everything as Luke fell endlessly through collapsing light while the void beyond creation shattered behind him piece by piece.

The last thing he heard was Nerath-Kul roaring in fury and the last thing he saw was Vaelthoros standing alone against the awakening horrors. Then even that disappeared. The journey back hurt.

This time the Balance did not protect him gently.

It dragged him through broken dimensions and collapsing pathways while the Heart's power desperately tried stabilizing the route home before the Primordials tore it apart completely.

Luke cried out as golden energy surged violently around his body.

He could barely breathe. Barely think.

The Balance inside him flickered wildly as fragments of the void tried clinging to him during the fall. Ancient whispers echoed through his mind endlessly.

Heir…

Return…

Open the path…

Luke covered his ears desperately.

"Stop…"

The whispers only grew louder.

a familiar voice cut through the darkness.

Luke.

Everything froze.

Lucien.

The golden thread pulsed brightly again.

And instantly the whispers vanished.

Luke reached toward the voice instinctively.

"Dad…"

Light exploded around him.

Back inside the sanctuary…

the Heart Chamber was dying.

Large portions of the floating city had already collapsed into the void while primordial corruption still lingered across the outer districts like spreading scars. The eternal sunrise above flickered weakly as though the sanctuary itself struggled to survive.

And at the center of the ruined chamber—

Lucien waited.

The infernal Prince stood before the Heart of Creation surrounded by Dawn Sentinels, the Spirit Guide, and the Father of All. Nobody spoke because the golden thread connected to Lucien's wrist had suddenly begun burning brighter.

The Heart pulsed rapidly.

Something was coming back.

Lucien's chest tightened painfully.

"Luke…"

The Father of All narrowed his ancient eyes toward the chamber center.

"The pathway is reopening."

The Spirit Guide growled uneasily.

But something is wrong.

The Heart Chamber trembled violently.

Then reality split open.

A massive crack of golden light tore through the air itself while Balance energy erupted across the sanctuary like a second sun.

The Sentinels immediately raised their weapons.

Lucien stepped forward instantly as Luke fell out of the fracture.

Lucien caught him before he hit the ground, The force nearly drove him to his knees.

Luke's body burned with unstable Balance energy while black cracks of void corruption spread faintly across one side of his arm. His breathing was weak and uneven.

But he was alive.

Lucien held him tightly as relief crashed into him so hard it almost hurt.

"Luke!"

The boy's glowing eyes opened weakly.

"Dad…"

Lucien immediately pulled him closer like he was afraid the child would disappear again.

"You stupid reckless child," he whispered shakily.

Luke actually smiled faintly despite his exhaustion. "I came back…"

Lucien closed his eyes sharply.

"Yes," he answered hoarsely. "You did."

The Spirit Guide quickly approached, silver flames examining the black corruption spreading along Luke's arm.

The ancient dragon's expression darkened immediately.

The void touched him.

Silence hit the chamber instantly.

Luke looked down weakly at the black cracks.

"They tried to follow me…" he whispered.

The Father of All stepped closer and asked. "Did they cross?"

Luke slowly shook his head. "No… Vaelthoros stopped them."

Everyone froze, even the Heart pulsed strangely at the Primordial's name.

Lucien frowned deeply.

"The creature protected you?"

Luke nodded slowly. "He sealed the pathway."

The Father of All's ancient expression became unreadable. "A Primordial choosing Balance…" he murmured softly. "The old prophecies never spoke of this."

Luke's eyes lowered sadly. "He stayed behind."

The chamber became silent again.

Because everyone understood what that meant.

Vaelthoros was most likely dead.

Alone beyond creation.

Holding back the horrors of the void.

The sanctuary trembled violently again.

But this time…

the corruption across the floating city had begun fading.

The Heart of Creation glowed steadily once more while broken structures slowly repaired themselves beneath streams of Balance energy flowing through the sanctuary.

The realm was healing.

Luke noticed immediately. "The Heart…"

The Father of All nodded slowly.

"The awakening stabilized it."

For the first time in ages, the sanctuary was alive again.

Yet despite the victory…

unease remained heavy in the chamber.

Because Luke could still hear them faintly.

The whispers beyond creation. Waiting. Watching.

The black cracks on his arm pulsed painfully.

And deep inside the void beyond existence…

something ancient stirred.

Far beyond creation…

Nerath-Kul opened all six eyes slowly within the darkness.

The collapsed pathway had sealed.

For now.

But the Primordials had felt the Heart awaken.

And more importantly, they had felt Luke.

A living bridge between Balance and chaos.

The monstrous entity's countless mouths twisted into a terrible smile.

"THE CHILD WILL OPEN THE WAY EVENTUALLY."

Around Nerath-Kul, the sleeping horrors slowly began awakening one after another waiting patiently in the endless dark beyond creation.

Waiting… for the Heir of Balance to make a mistake that would cost him the whole planet.
