"Kaiba's using Union monsters to build raw power, crush my field, and then use them as Tributes for a God Card. In this duel, whoever summons a God first will seize a massive advantage… so—"
After a brief pause, he moved.
"I send 'Queen's Knight' from my Deck to the Graveyard to Special Summon 'Joker's Knight' from my hand!"Joker's Knight (ATK 2000 / DEF 1400)
"Until the End Phase, the 'Joker's Knight' summoned by this effect is treated as the same name as the monster I sent—so it counts as 'Queen's Knight'!"

"'King's Knight' effect—if I control 'Queen's Knight', then when 'King's Knight' is successfully Summoned, I can Special Summon 'Jack's Knight' from my Deck!"

With three knights standing in formation, Yami Yugi's gaze sharpened.
"Now I've assembled the Tributes. As long as I draw my God Card, I can summon it at any moment…"
Aoi spoke quietly from the sidelines, her voice calm but impressed. "He's good. I didn't expect him to gather three Tributes this quickly."
Joey frowned. "Yeah, but look at their ATK. The strongest is only 2000. He can't beat Kaiba's 'X-Head Cannon'. Next turn Kaiba could wipe them all out."
Yami Yugi set two cards face-down.
"I set two cards. End turn." (Cards in hand: 2)
Kaiba's lip curled.
"Hmph. Looks like you still haven't drawn your God Card, Yugi."
"My turn—draw."
Kaiba glanced at his hand and smiled faintly.
"Hmph. Yugi… let me show you a God."
Joey's eyes widened. "No way—did he already draw his God Card?!"
Even Duke stared. "Yugi gathering Tributes that fast was already insane… but Kaiba's still ahead?!"
Kaiba slapped a card onto his Duel Disk.
"I activate 'Soul Crossing'!"
"'Soul Crossing'?" Yugi's group murmured.
"This card lets me use your monsters as Tributes for my Tribute Summon."
Kaiba's smile turned razor-sharp.
"Yugi—thanks for gathering my Tributes for me."
Yami Yugi's expression flickered. "Tch… I didn't think he'd have a card like that…"
"By 'Soul Crossing'… I Tribute all three monsters on your field as the Tributes to summon 'Obelisk the Tormentor'!"
"Not so fast!" Yami Yugi snapped. "I activate the Trap Card 'Lightforce Sword'!"
A luminous blade formed and plunged into Kaiba's remaining card in hand, sealing it away.
"After this card resolves, one random card from your hand is banished face-down. On your third Standby Phase after your next turn, it returns to your hand!"
Kaiba's eyes narrowed.
"Since you can't perform the Tribute Summon now, your 'Soul Crossing' loses its purpose—its activation is null!"
Kaiba clicked his tongue, but didn't lose momentum.
"Hmph. Fine. I'll take the loss on that exchange."
He raised his Duel Disk again.
"I activate 'Z-Metal Tank' from my hand—equip it to 'X-Head Cannon'! Its ATK and DEF increase by 600!"
Metal plating snapped into place with a heavy clang.

"Battle! 'X-Head Cannon', attack 'Joker's Knight'—Super Destruction Cannon!"
A beam erupted from the cannon's barrel and blew the knight apart.

At that moment, Yami Yugi's face remained steady.
"I activate the Continuous Trap 'Bond of the Court'!"
"This card can only be activated if I control no monsters other than 'Queen's Knight', 'King's Knight', and 'Jack's Knight'. I can Special Summon one of those Knights from my hand or Graveyard."

Kaiba's eyes sharpened.
"Hmph. So you're using a Trap to keep replenishing Tributes for your God Summon."
He ended his turn. (Cards in hand: 3)
"My turn—draw."
Yami Yugi checked the card he drew—and frowned. Not the one he wanted.
Kaiba laughed softly, satisfied.
"Looks like you still didn't draw your God. At this rate, those three turns will be over before you can do anything."
Yami Yugi didn't answer. He simply set one card face-down.
"Then I switch 'King's Knight' and 'Jack's Knight' to Defense Position. End turn." (Cards in hand: 2)

Marik watched with a dark smile. "A stalemate. Yugi's got the Tributes but no God Card… and Kaiba's God is temporarily sealed."
Ishizu's eyes remained calm. "The question is… who will summon a God first."
"My turn—draw!"
Kaiba's hand flashed, and he played a card with casual arrogance.
"I activate 'Pot of Greed'. I draw two cards."
He looked across the arena like a predator savoring its meal.
"Yugi… are you scared of the God I sealed away?"
Yami Yugi's shoulders tightened almost imperceptibly.
Kaiba's smile deepened.
"But what if I don't need to wait three turns?"
Yami Yugi's eyes sharpened. "What are you talking about?"
Kaiba slid a card into his Duel Disk.
"I activate 'Heavenly Obedience'!"
He paid the cost without hesitation.

"I pay 1000 Life Points, declare the name of an 8-star-or-higher monster in your Deck. If your Deck contains it—then it becomes mine."
Yami Yugi's expression darkened. He already knew where this was headed.
Kaiba raised his chin, voice cold and absolute.
"I declare: 'Slifer the Sky Dragon.'"
Silence.
Then—step by step—Yugi walked forward, jaw tight, and pulled a single card from his Deck. He placed it into Kaiba's hand like handing over a weapon.
Kaiba's grin was pure triumph.
"Hmph. You buried it pretty deep."
He returned to his position, holding the God Card as if it were already the crown.
"Now do you understand, Yugi? Any God will kneel before me."
Yami Yugi's lips curled.
"Heh… sore wa dou kana."
Kaiba's smile faltered.
Yami Yugi's eyes gleamed, voice low with certainty.
"Kaiba… thanks for digging 'Slifer' out of my Deck for me. Because I was thinking the exact same thing."
"The moment 'Lightforce Sword' releases your sealed card… I was planning to flip that face-down card and take action."
Kaiba's eyes widened.
