"9000 Life Points, plus a 4000 ATK monster… This duel is over," Yami Yugi said quietly.
Seto Kaiba smirked. "Heh. As expected. You crushed that third-rate duelist."
Aoi's twelve-winged archangel lowered its blade.
"Lucifer, Darklord of Dawn—when this card is Fusion Summoned using Darklord Lucifer as material, activate: destroy all cards your opponent controls."
"Judgment of the End!"
"What?! It has an effect like that?!" Jounouchi instinctively stepped back.
Lucifer raised the great sword—angelic steel wreathed in black flame—and brought it down.
The fallen firestorm swept Jounouchi's entire field.
Even Archfiend Black Skull Dragon—that blazing demon-dragon—was swallowed and shattered into ash and fragments.
Jounouchi gritted his teeth, forcing a grin.
"Heh… you made one fatal mistake. Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon—if it's destroyed by battle or card effect, I can target a Level 7 or lower 'Red-Eyes' monster in my Graveyard and Special Summon it. If it's Red-Eyes B. Dragon, its original ATK becomes double!"
"Come out—Red-Eyes B. Dragon!"
A black dragon erupted onto the field, its presence violently amplified.

Aoi didn't blink.
"Then I activate Lucifer, Darklord of Dawn's effect—during either Main Phase, pay 1000 Life Points: Special Summon a Fairy from my hand or Graveyard in Defense Position."

That set card… it has to be a trap.
He made his call.
"I activate Harpie's Feather Duster—return all Spell and Trap Cards on the field to their owners' hands!"
A gale tore through the hall; Aoi's set card was ripped up and blown away.
Jounouchi clenched his fist.
"The basic rule of a fight is to take down the strongest one! Battle—Red-Eyes B. Dragon attacks Lucifer, Darklord of Dawn! Black Flare!"
Aoi gave a single cold snort.
"Hmph."
And then—
Red-Eyes B. Dragon was destroyed.
"What?! How?!" Jounouchi's voice cracked.
Aoi's gaze didn't move.
"I activated Darklord Ixchel's effect. I pay 1000 Life Points and apply the effect of a 'Darklord' Spell/Trap in my Graveyard."

"But you don't have a 'Darklord' card in your Graveyard that destroys monsters!" Jounouchi shot back—
Then he remembered.
When Aoi had resolved Darklord Lucifer earlier, she had milled cards.
His face went stiff.
"…When you summoned Lucifer, you sent—"
"Correct."
Aoi's voice was flat—certain.
"One of the cards sent to the Graveyard then was Darklord Uprising."
"By applying that effect, I destroy one card on the field."
"And because Ixchel is only applying the effect, I don't need to send a 'Darklord' monster as cost."
Jounouchi's shoulders sagged.
"…I lost."
"End turn."
"My turn. Draw."
She didn't hesitate.
"Battle—Lucifer, Darklord of Dawn attacks directly."
The great sword fell like a verdict.
Jounouchi LP: 1000 → 0
Aoi Kisaragi wins.
"Duel end! Semifinal Match One—winner: Aoi Kisaragi!" Ishizu declared.
Jounouchi and Aoi met at center field and shook hands.
"I lost again. Guess I still can't match you," he said with a wry smile.
Aoi shook her head.
"You're strong, Jounouchi. You handle the Red-Eyes deck well."
He sighed. "But I still lost. Those Darklords… I couldn't breathe. Every plan I had got read like an open book."
Yugi glanced at Yami Yugi, who was staring at Aoi in silence.
"Other me… what are you thinking?"
"…Nothing." Yami Yugi's eyes remained fixed. "Just… her strength is deeper than it should be. Jounouchi's monsters are powerful—effects, ATK, pressure. Even I'd have struggled."
"But she made them feel like they never even got to play."
Yugi tried to rationalize it.
"Maybe because she gave him the Red-Eyes deck. Of course she understands it."
"…That's the only explanation that fits," Yami Yugi answered—though his tone said he wasn't convinced.
As everyone gathered, Honda clapped Jounouchi on the back.
"Not bad! You didn't lose too badly. You've gotten stronger."
Jounouchi grimaced. "Idiot—I got bullied. Those Darklords had me pinned the whole time."
Mai smirked, hooked an arm around his neck, and ground her fist on the top of his head.
"Good. At least you're self-aware."
"Ow—ow—ease up!" he yelped.
Aoi walked back to Seto and Mokuba.
"Good work," Seto said, lips curled. "Looks like that third-rate duelist still couldn't force you to go all out."
"What? I was totally serious!" Aoi snapped, cheeks puffing.
Seto chuckled. "Sure. You looked bored."
Aoi's eyes slid away. "Heh… you caught that. I gave him the Red-Eyes deck. I know every line it wants to take."
Then she looked at Seto, gaze sharpening.
"Your match is next, Seto. Don't lose."
Seto's mouth lifted—confident, absolute.
"Not a chance."
