Chapter 269 - Chapter 269: Breaking into Gringotts (Part 1)

Returning home after a day's work, Hermione was unsurprisingly greeted by her parents' congratulations.

Mrs. Granger hugged her daughter with relief, patting her back and saying she had grown up.

Mr. Granger, on the other hand, repeatedly reminded her and Amanda to get more rest and never to overwork themselves because of their jobs.

They were only fifteen years old and still at a growing age; they couldn't afford to be too exhausted.

"Don't worry, Mom and Dad, I'll be careful," Hermione promised with a smile, while gently taking Amanda's hand. "Besides, with Amanda helping me, the workload isn't actually that heavy."

With Amanda around, it was like Hermione had an intimate, super-intelligent computer by her side. Work that would take others a full day to process...

...the two of them working together could finish in just an hour, and the quality would be even better than if others had handled it.

This was why Hermione had dared to accept the positions of Minister for Magic and Muggle prime minister at the same time without hesitation; she knew she could do it well.

As usual, they had a sumptuous dinner with her parents. After dinner, Hermione sent letters to Harry and Ron.

"I'll go over tomorrow and bring Harry and Ron to the Ministry of Magic."

Amanda gently hugged Hermione from behind and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Mhm, thank you for your hard work, darling." Hermione turned her head, letting her lips brush against Amanda's.

"What did Hermione just call me?"

Amanda's eyes instantly lit up, her expression filled with excitement as she looked at Hermione.

"darling," Hermione raised an eyebrow. "Do you like it when I call you that?"

"Of course I like it."

Amanda smiled happily, leaning down to kiss Hermione again.

At eight o'clock the next morning, Amanda appeared punctually at the Weasley family's doorstep. Ron, who had received the letter the previous night, was standing there waiting.

Seeing Amanda arrive, he quickly walked over. "What do you and Hermione need Harry and me to do?"

The news of Hermione becoming the Muggle prime minister had been reported by all the major newspapers, magazines, and radio stations in the Wizarding World, so Ron was quite surprised she had written to him. Shouldn't Hermione be incredibly busy right now?

The British Wizarding World and the Muggle World were both counting on her, after all.

Could it be that she needed him to accompany Harry for another speech?

"Something good, though not entirely pleasant," Amanda shrugged, placing a hand on Ron's shoulder. "Let's go get Harry first, then we'll head back to Hermione's and discuss what we're doing today."

"Alright."

As soon as Ron finished speaking, Amanda vanished with him instantly. Now that Hermione was the Minister for Magic...

...Amanda could use magic during the holidays without any more reservations. Special times called for special measures.

Apparating in front of the Dursley family home, Amanda raised her hand and knocked as politely as possible.

When the door opened, Harry was standing there. He nodded to Amanda and Ron.

"Amanda, Ron, good morning."

"Harry, good morning. I thought your aunt and uncle would have a bigger reaction?"

Amanda raised an eyebrow and looked past Harry's shoulder into the house, but she saw no sign of Mr. and Mrs. Dursley at all.

"If you had come a few years ago, they certainly would have," Harry nodded, closing the door behind him.

If Amanda had made such a "visit" two years ago, Harry had no doubt his aunt and uncle would have collapsed on the spot. They couldn't stand the sight of a Wizard standing in their clean, tidy front yard.

"But now," Harry looked back, "they've seen Hermione's inauguration ceremony at the Ministry of Magic, and they've seen the news about her becoming the prime minister."

"So, knowing that Hermione and I are together and that we're both your friends, they don't even dare to come out and see me."

Amanda shook her head with a knowing smile, looking at the Dursley house with interest.

Actually, there was no need for them to act this way. They were Harry's aunt and uncle, after all.

If Harry didn't take action himself, she wouldn't do anything to them either; it wouldn't be right.

"Let's go. I expect to bring you back this evening."

Amanda said as she placed her hands on Harry's and Ron's shoulders, and the three of them vanished together.

With a blur before their eyes, they opened them again to find themselves in the Minister's office at the Ministry of Magic. Hermione was sitting at her desk, setting aside the last document for the day.

With Amanda's advance classification and summaries, processing these documents was indeed fast.

Hermione sighed inwardly with appreciation, standing up to stretch her neck.

She walked over, wrapped her arms around Amanda's waist, and gave her a kiss. "Thank you for your hard work, darling."

Amanda snuggled into Hermione's embrace, her face flushing slightly as she smiled, and leaned in to kiss Hermione back. "It's no trouble at all."

The two boys stood nearby, looking at the ceiling, the floor, and each other—anywhere but at Amanda and Hermione.

Only when the two separated did Harry and Ron shift their gaze back to them.

"So, do you need Harry and me to do something?"

Ron pointed to himself and Harry beside him.

Harry also looked at the two girls, appearing quite eager.

Merlin knew he had been nearly rotting away at the Dursleys' for these past few days of the summer break.

He now deeply missed the great battle that had unfolded at the Ministry of Magic at the end of the last term.

The Death Eaters hadn't been caught yet, and Voldemort hadn't been killed.

He wanted to be on the front lines, contributing to the stability and safety of the Wizarding World and the Muggle World... "We're going to break into Gringotts."

Harry's thoughts were cut short halfway through by Hermione's blunt statement.

Or rather, not just his—Ron also snapped his head up, looking at Hermione with an expression that said, 'Do you even hear what you're saying?'

"Hermione..." Harry swallowed hard. "You're the Minister for Magic now."

"Yes, and?"

"The Minister for Magic leading a break-in at Gringotts?" Isn't that a bit much? Harry looked at Hermione, feeling as if he had a thousand things to say, but they were all stuck in his throat.

"Don't worry so much about the rules, Harry." Hermione waved it off.

This statement left Harry and Ron completely stunned. Well, well, well—they never thought they'd see the day when Hermione would be the one advising them like that.

The dynamic between the three of them had truly flipped around.

"Special situations call for special measures," Hermione said, using a phrase that had been frequent lately. She briskly swapped her wizard robe for a woman's suit, while tying her long hair into a sharp high ponytail.

"We need to check if there are any Horcruxes in Gringotts. If there are, we need to deal with them quickly."

"Alright." Harry and Ron nodded in unison.

Complaints aside, if it was to defeat Voldemort, what was a mere break-in at Gringotts?

"Good. Once I've finished up with the Muggle World side of things, we'll head straight to Gringotts."

Amanda, Hermione, Harry, and Ron breaking into Gringotts together—they didn't even plan on waiting for nightfall.

Was there anything to fear? No. Then why not just go during the day?

Amanda and Hermione took the two boys to the prime minister's office. While the two girls worked together to quickly process tasks, the two boys sat nearby, sipping from bottles of Coke while they waited.

Hermione glanced up at the idle Harry and Ron and, without hesitation, called over the official currently in charge of the British police.

"Share some of your work experience with those two boys over there."

Hermione nodded toward Harry and Ron on the sofa. "Consider this an extra-curricular task I'm asking of you. It counts as overtime, and I'll pay you triple for today."

The official, who had just been called over looking confused, instantly brightened up. He might not care much about the pay...

...but he cared very much about making a good impression in front of Prime Minister Granger!

"Certainly, Prime Minister Granger. I'll get right to it."

The official nodded vigorously, walked over, gave Harry and Ron a brief greeting, and began explaining his work experience.

"Hermione is planning to train Harry and Ron to be the heads of the Aurors in the future."

Amanda glanced at the two boys, who were still in a state of bewilderment while listening to the official's explanation.

"Exactly."

Hermione set down the document she had finished. "Harry's dream is to become an Auror, and I expect Ron will join him. Naturally, I have to give them proper training."

She curled her lips slightly. Who else would be more reliable under her command than these two best friends who had been with her for five years?

No one. So, of course, she was going to cultivate two useful companions for herself.

As noon approached, Amanda and Hermione finally finished processing everything in the Muggle World.

"The Muggle World is indeed much larger than the Wizarding World," Hermione sat up and stretched. "There are many more matters to handle."

"Thank you for your hard work, Hermione." Amanda spoke softly, reaching out to massage Hermione's back.

"It's no trouble," Hermione shook her head, taking Amanda's right hand and bringing it to her lips for a kiss. "My darling is the one who's working hard, helping me with my work."

"It's nothing," Amanda shrugged. "The workload isn't that much."

Shaking her head with a smile, Hermione ordered lunch for the four of them. Amanda, Hermione, Harry, and Ron huddled together, eating lunch while discussing the plan to break into Gringotts that afternoon.

"First, we'll disguise ourselves as Death Eaters." As Amanda spoke, she waved her hand lightly, and the clothes on the four of them immediately turned into pure black robes.

The four pens on Hermione's desk also transformed into four masks and flew into everyone's hands.

"Then we'll fire the Dark Mark above Gringotts. Next, we'll charge straight in and check every vault belonging to Pure-blood families and Death Eaters, one by one."

"I'll check if there are Horcruxes inside. If there are, I'll burn the entire vault down, and the Horcrux will be destroyed with it."

"Finally, we'll escape by riding the Dragon from beneath Gringotts."

As Amanda finished, Hermione leaned in and kissed the corner of her mouth. "My darling's plan is wonderful."

???

Harry and Ron looked at Hermione with heads full of question marks. Seriously, Hermione, do you hear yourself?

Disguising as Death Eaters, then brazenly storming into Gringotts, searching for items, burning vaults, and riding out on a Dragon... This was even more high-profile than actual Death Eaters!

Sensing Harry and Ron's thoughts, Amanda finished the last of her lunch with a light laugh, then set down her cutlery and wiped her mouth.

"Our goal this time is to be as high-profile as possible. The more high-profile we are, the wider and faster the news of Death Eaters breaking into Gringotts will spread."

"That way, the number of Wizards in the British Wizarding World who distrust Gringotts will increase. Then Hermione can introduce a bank run by Wizards themselves to compete with the Goblins' Gringotts."

"Competition between the two will force Gringotts to improve its service. After all these years, the Goblins at Gringotts should finally learn a bit about customer service."

"Understood." x2

Harry and Ron agreed in unison. Basically, they were just going to cause a massive scene—they knew how to do that, and they liked it!

"Then let's go."

Amanda stood up, taking the mask in front of her and fastening it to her face.

All four of them put on their masks. With their pure black wizard robes, they looked exactly like four Death Eaters standing in the prime minister's office.

Amanda drew her wand, and Hermione, Harry, and Ron also drew theirs, standing ready.

The next moment, Amanda gave her wand a light flick, Apparating the four of them to the entrance of Gringotts.

Looking at the white building before her, Amanda raised her right arm and fired a Dark Mark directly into the sky.

Bang!

The Dark Mark exploded in the sky. The violent blast caused every Wizard in Diagon Alley to look up.

The moment they saw the Dark Mark, the crowd erupted in terrified screams, and Wizards immediately began Apparating away with their families.

The Auror squad stationed in Diagon Alley immediately stepped forward, waving their wands. Spells of various colors—Expelliarmus, Stupefy, Explosion Charms—flew toward Amanda and the others.

"Protego!" x3

Hermione, Harry, and Ron raised their wands in unison, and three powerful Shield Charms firmly blocked the Aurors' spells.

Feeling the power of the spells hitting the Shield Charms, Harry immediately felt something was off. Since when were the Ministry Aurors this powerful?

In the past, when they faced these Aurors, they could usually overpower them without much effort.

"Have they been through special training?"

Harry turned his head and shouted to Hermione.

"Yes! The results are pretty good, aren't they?" Hermione shouted back.

"Pretty good indeed!" Ron called out, hitting one of the Aurors with an Expelliarmus that sent him flying. "Maybe a bit too good."

They were holding back against the Aurors, but the Aurors weren't showing any mercy. Plus, with the Aurors' superior numbers, even Hermione and the others were starting to feel the strain.

The main reason, of course, was that the Aurors could go all out, but they couldn't... Looking up at Gringotts before her, Amanda slowly raised her wand.
