Chapter 268 - Chapter 268: Maintain Skepticism, The Break-in Plan

Watching the remaining people present sign the contracts, Hermione stood up and saw them out of the meeting room.

Outside the meeting room door, the floor was clean; all traces had been scrubbed away, leaving not a single residue behind.

But it was precisely this that made those walking out even more terrified, their obedience to Hermione strengthening in their hearts.

Think about it: if Hermione's subordinates could clean up a scene here so quickly, what about at their homes?

Wouldn't it be even more terrifying? They absolutely had to support Prime Minister Granger's work! Whatever Prime Minister Granger said, goes!

"Everyone, we shall meet again."

Hermione nodded to them gently, then turned and stepped back into the meeting room.

With a smile, she waved for the staff member at the door to come over. The staff member jogged over, eyes sparkling as she looked at her new prime minister.

She was just an ordinary worker; Prime Minister Granger lowering prices and raising wages benefited her directly, so she naturally looked at Hermione with glowing eyes.

With the extra money, she could go on a trip once a year!

"I'll have to trouble you to go next door and bring all those media reporters over."

"I have a few more things to announce."

"Right away, Prime Minister Granger, I'm going now!" The staff member nodded vigorously and ran out of the meeting room.

A few minutes later, media reporters walked into the meeting room carrying their 'long guns and short cannons'—cameras and video recorders—and began filming Hermione immediately.

Facing the media cameras, Hermione held up one finger.

"First, I wish to say that the US is required to withdraw all stationing troops within two days. The security of Britain will be protected by Britain itself."

The media reporters present were stunned at first, then everyone looked at Hermione in disbelief.

This... did they hear that right? Prime Minister Granger is being this tough?

Hermione curled one side of her lips into a confident and firm smile. "If they do not withdraw after two days, equivalent naval and air warships will carry out a devastating strike against them."

"Second, Britain will henceforth remain committed to world peace and stability. We resolutely oppose unnecessary alliances and military unions."

"Therefore, Britain will withdraw from NATO and by, and we are announcing this to the world in advance."

"That is all for today," Hermione stood up happily and nodded to the reporters. "Thank you for your hard work, everyone."

The live signal was cut, leaving all those watching the broadcast in a daze, followed by cheers.

The cheers undoubtedly came from the ordinary citizens of Britain, who were overjoyed by the life they were about to have.

The daze mostly came from other countries, especially the US. They didn't understand why so many things had changed overnight.

This new prime minister of Britain, Hermione Granger, seemed to have appeared out of nowhere to turn the global landscape upside down.

Including those terrifying new weapons under her command and those people in green armor—where did they all come from!

As for Hermione's words, it was impossible for the people of the US not to be angry.

But what could they do? Against countries weaker than themselves, they were used to direct bullying and oppression.

However, the current Britain, with those new weapons they possessed, already had strength no less than theirs. What could they do?

They could only watch helplessly, not to mention they still had the affairs of their own domestic Wizarding World to deal with.

Walking out of the meeting room, Hermione immediately turned to the security personnel in green armor and handed over a list Amanda had given her earlier.

"Take these people to a military court for trial. If they resist, kill them on the spot."

"Understood."

The security personnel in green armor nodded, turned, and walked quickly downstairs.

Hermione watched their retreating figures, her mind slowly pondering, though she wasn't thinking of any official business... she was wondering how things were going on her Amanda's side.

Just as Hermione was dealing with those people, Amanda also arrived at her destination, Cambridge University.

Walking onto the university campus, Amanda looked around and nodded in approval. The environment was truly nice, much better than the schools in her original world.

Entering the teaching building, Amanda headed straight for a classroom located in a corner with a clear goal.

From inside came a student's impassioned voice, "Now the Wizarding World and our Muggle World are showing a trend of complete integration. magic can indeed promote technological development, but once their integration reaches a higher level, the development of pure technology will definitely stagnate!"

"Exactly! That's why we must be even more firm in developing pure science!"

Another student's voice immediately echoed her.

Amanda stood outside the door listening, a soft smile on her face.

How wonderful; young people have their own views on the world.

Regardless of what those views are, good or bad, having their own perspective is a good thing.

Gripping the doorknob, she opened the door silently. As she entered, Amanda cast an Ignoring Charm on herself, so her entry didn't attract anyone's attention.

She sat quietly behind all the students and Professors, watching them discuss how to promote the development of pure technology industries and products.

She watched them discuss among themselves whether she might have some conspiracy, such as using the combination of magic and science to slowly erase their Muggle science.

To turn their Muggle science into a castle in the air that could not be completed without magic.

Listening to these suspicions about herself, Amanda didn't feel offended; instead, she smiled even more happily.

Even though Hermione had become the prime minister, and even though the world already knew she was the one supporting Hermione from behind,

these students and Professors still dared to question her and condemn her rather than blindly following her or Hermione. Wasn't this a good thing? Since it's a good thing, one should smile.

After a moment's thought, Amanda lifted the Ignoring Charm on herself and intentionally said,

"Then let's not promote the integration of the Wizarding World and the Muggle World. Let's start a war between the two sides and go conquer them, how about that?"

"Bullshit!"

The female student speaking at the very front blurted out without hesitation.

"What we are saying is that while integrating the Wizarding World and the Muggle World, we shouldn't forget independent science. But war? Who told you we should do that?!"

"Peace and equality are what we pursue! What major are you? How could you say such a thing!"

The students and Professors present couldn't help but turn their gaze toward Amanda, wanting to see who would say such loathsome and infuriating words.

Then someone recognized her. "This is... Miss Amanda!"

"Miss Amanda?"

"Why did she come to our school?"

The students discussed in low voices. Many lowered their heads, their faces flushing with embarrassment. To speculate about someone and speak ill of them, only to be overheard by the person herself—how could it not be awkward? However, after the initial awkwardness, both the students and Professors began to politely greet Amanda, thanking her for her contribution to the peaceful integration of the British Muggle World and the Wizarding World.

Speculation was one thing, but politeness and respect for Amanda's contributions could not be ignored.

After politely greeting everyone, Amanda clapped her hands. "I heard everything you all just said."

"It was well said. Whether it was speculation or suspicion, it makes me very heartened."

"A university," Amanda's voice grew slightly louder, "and young people—with these two combined, if you don't dare to be the first, who will?"

Looking at Amanda, who was quite a bit younger than them, the students present had the illusion that they were facing a reliable elder.

"Do not blindly follow authority, do not blindly follow me, and do not blindly follow anyone!"

"Dare to question, dare to propose your own ideas, and have a bottom line that you insist upon."

"I should pay my respects to you."

Amanda bowed slightly, and the students and Professors standing opposite her also hurriedly bowed. The scene of mutual respect was much like the current integration of the British Wizarding World and the Muggle World.

Straightening her back slowly, Amanda beckoned to the female student who had been speaking earlier.

The female student walked toward Amanda with a blush on her face, and her first words were somewhat surprising.

"Miss Amanda, ever since your products entered the Muggle World market, I've been following your factories for a long time. Your various ideas are practically my role model—of course, I mean your ideas regarding science."

"What I said just now..." The female student scratched her cheek, a bit embarrassed.

Amanda smiled and shook her head, patting the female student's shoulder. "I'm honored to be your role model, but even so, that doesn't stop you from staying clear-headed and looking at me with skepticism."

"Maintaining a cool head," Amanda pointed to her own head with her other finger, "is the most important thing."

"You are right," Amanda's gaze shifted from the female student to everyone in the classroom. "The integration of magic and science is an irreversible trend, but the development of pure science and pure magic cannot be left behind."

She took a document and a hard drive out of her wizard robe and handed them to the female student.

"This document represents a total of sixty-five factories and research institutes within Britain. This hard drive stores certain technologies based on modern science yet generations ahead of it."

"How much you can learn, how much more you can develop, and how much you can create depends on yourselves."

Taking the document and hard drive from Amanda's hands, the female student looked at her, at a loss.

Amanda gave a light laugh and handed over a bank card as well. "This contains the funding you need. Pure magic research in the Wizarding World will also continue, and research into the fusion of magic and technology will not stop either."

"Keep it up. Don't let the path of pure technology fall behind the other two."

The female student took a deep breath and accepted the card from Amanda, as if taking over the relay baton of human Muggle technology.

"We will. Human technology and magic will shine together in the world!"

Amanda nodded with satisfaction and left Cambridge University amidst the farewells of the students and Professors.

It was already afternoon by the time she returned to the Minister's office at the Ministry of Magic. Hermione had also just finished her business in the Muggle World and was hanging her suit on a coat rack.

"Is things finished on Hermione's side too?"

Amanda stepped forward, wrapped her arms around Hermione's waist, and proactively kissed her on the cheek.

"It's finished," Hermione nodded with a smile, turning around to pull Amanda into her arms and looking down to lightly peck her beloved's pink lips. "Everything went very smoothly. How about your side?"

Nestled in Hermione's arms, Amanda blinked as she thought of those students and Professors who knew how to question yet were very polite.

"My side went very smoothly too. The path of pure science, the path of pure magic, and the path of magic-science integration will develop together."

"That's good."

Hermione nodded in approval. "Then next, we can focus on dealing with Voldemort."

She squinted her eyes as she spoke. All internal problems in the Muggle World had been resolved.

With both the Wizarding World and the Muggle World under control, the next step was to gather the strength of both sides to jointly take down that fellow, Voldemort.

"Yes," Amanda responded while leaning in Hermione's arms, "next is to find Voldemort's Horcruxes."

They had already destroyed three Horcruxes: the diary, the resurrection stone ring, and 'Nagini'.

According to Amanda's deduction, with Voldemort's arrogant and conceited personality, he would likely have created six Horcruxes. That way, counting himself, he could make up the most magical number in the Wizarding World: seven.

In other words, besides the three Horcruxes they had destroyed, and excluding Harry, there should be three more Horcruxes that haven't been destroyed yet.

"I remember there are still some vaults in Gringotts we haven't checked."

Amanda thought of something and looked up at Hermione.

"Indeed," Hermione nodded. "Some vaults belong to those Pure-blood families' Death Eaters. Even with their relatives leading us, we can't enter. Those Goblins..."

Frowning in dissatisfaction, Hermione felt that after the matter with Voldemort was over, she could start establishing a bank in the Wizarding World managed by Wizards themselves.

Of course, it wasn't about replacing Gringotts; Gringotts was still very important for stabilizing the Goblin race.

She just wanted to give them some competitors to let them know that their service needed improvement.

"And according to regulations," Hermione rubbed her brow, feeling a headache, "even the Ministry of Magic cannot just inspect Gringotts at will."

"Then don't inspect it," Amanda said casually, reaching out to twirl Hermione's hair. "We'll just break in."

Special times call for special measures. Anyway, it's just those few Goblins; who could stop her?

Hermione looked down at Amanda in her arms, thought for a moment, and then nodded without hesitation.

"That could work. When Gringotts comes to the Ministry of Magic to report the case, I'll just have the Aurors muddle through it."

Finally, let Voldemort and the Death Eaters take the blame. Absolutely perfect!

"Then let's contact Harry and Ron. We'll go break into Gringotts and rummage through all those Pure-blood families' Death Eater vaults we didn't check before."

As she spoke, Hermione Granger, the current Minister for Magic, had a gleam of eagerness in her eyes.

"Alright, I'll go write to them."

Amanda responded and tilted her head up to kiss the corner of Hermione's lips.
