"let it go Naruto, not all is lost, they can still be saved, we just have to get the caster of the summoning jutsu to release them, it would've been worse if you were pulled in too" kurama said
Meanwhile Naruto with a frown and clenched fist stared down at the gedo statue as its eight eyeball lit up and then it slowly stared right back at him.
The stare-down which seemed like a challenge was ended with a roar from the gedo statue which sent Naruto skidding back a little in the air, and then it was hastily unsummoned.
Sasuke however sat resting on a rock platform panting slowly as he tried to get his bearing and maybe recover a little.

He closed both his eyes as he stared inside himself metaphysically where he finally saw it with countless chains appearing around its limbs and body, sited it a praying Buddha form, wooden brown in color witch eight lighted up eyes, it was the gedo statue.
It was not sealed in the sense of sealing jutsu, he was not hagoromo or hamura, however it was suppressed just like Obito and madara were able to do, though this took a lot of mental pressure and a little bit of the rinnegan powers as its eyes slowly closed.
In return, he essentially augmented his life-force a little with the gedo stature there, he was not planning on becoming Otsutsuki or undergoing an apotheosis, that was a far cry from his aim, so far however, his initial plan had been adjusted one too many times and right now, the result though inferior to what he had in mind was not far from the result.
Obito was able to sustain his life-force and not die despite being on the edge of death because he was using the chakra of the gedo statue inside of him to sustain himself, in essence, the gedo statue inside of him was keeping him alive.
