The vault doors swung open from the inside. Whoever designed the Iron Bank had been ridiculously confident in those doors—or they never imagined anyone could tunnel straight into the heart of the place.

Either way, the massive doors opened without a fight.

The second Pointing-Rat-Calling-It-Duck stepped inside, his jaw nearly hit the floor.

He came from a well-off family back in the real world, but he had never seen anything like this in his life. Mountains of gold bricks stacked on top of each other, forming literal golden hills everywhere he looked.

This was what "an extremely huge amount" actually looked like.

"Gulp… All right, boys—let's get to work," Pointing-Rat ordered, his voice actually shaking a little.

The players were doing okay. Deep down they knew this was game gold. Sure, they could trade it offline with new players for real cash later, but it wasn't like they could take physical bricks home. Still, a few started greedily stuffing bricks into their pockets as fast as they could.

Smack!

One guy got slapped on the back of the head by his buddy. "You idiot! Why the hell are you lugging extra weight around right now? Save it for when we actually load the carts at the end!"

"Fuck off, I do what I want!"

The native soldiers, on the other hand, completely lost their minds.

Cavalry commander Gylo straight-up dove onto a pile of gold bricks like he wanted to die happy right there on his golden bed. Other soldiers were either slapping themselves across the face trying to wake up from what had to be a dream or standing frozen like statues. Players walking past couldn't help thinking of that old story about the guy who passed the imperial exam and went nuts.

The fire wyrm had curled up in the corner, watching the humans lose their shit over shiny rocks with cold, indifferent eyes.

Moving this kind of insane fortune was going to be a massive pain in the ass. By the time they finished securing the vault, it was already pitch black outside. Pointing-Rat reported back to Viserys and ordered everyone to crash there for the night, surrounded by the gold. They'd start hauling it at first light.

The soldiers cheered like it was the best order they'd ever heard. Sleeping while hugging piles of gold? Hell yeah.

The players were mostly fine with it—some were even excited to try cuddling up next to the fire wyrm. The native troops shook their heads like bobbleheads, terrified the giant beast might snack on them in their sleep.

---

"What the hell does 'the amount is extremely huge' even mean?" Viserys muttered, staring at Pointing-Rat's report summary in confusion.

Was it a million gold dragons? Ten million? He suddenly felt like the emperor who went out to hoe the fields with a golden hoe.

"Forget it. First thing tomorrow morning, have them move everything from the Iron Bank to the palace. Get the Enforcement Squad to count and inventory it all. Also, tell Roland to tighten security along the route."

Viserys set the report aside and turned to Nine Thousand Years standing respectfully to the side. The guy had basically become his walking notepad lately. Watching him carefully repeat every order back was honestly kind of funny.

[Host, under your brilliant leadership, your players and troops have successfully destroyed the enemy House of Black and White and seized the Iron Bank—which was hoarding vast wealth while conspiring with the Usurper. You have earned four Golden Treasure Chests…]

The sudden system notification caught Viserys off guard. He'd assumed there wouldn't be any rewards since there was no server-wide announcement. Guess the system considered the job done.

Whatever. Rewards are rewards.

He waved for the little fire creature to open all the new chests at once.

[Congratulations! You have obtained a full set of Valyrian steel armor…]

[Congratulations! You have obtained a Valyrian steel longsword…]

Looking at the growing mountain of Valyrian steel gear, Viserys sighed. "Valyrian steel weapons that are supposed to be priceless and rare have basically become the guaranteed consolation prize in these loot boxes now."

---

The next morning, no one needed to be told twice. The players and soldiers who had slept in the vault were already hard at work.

The massive cart that had carried the fire wyrm was brought back. It was built tough enough to haul an adult fire wyrm, so it had no problem carrying mountains of gold.

Thousands of men formed two long lines like army ants, constantly ferrying gold bricks to the carts.

As they went deeper they started finding crates of gold dragons, silver stags, and other coins. Just looking at it all made people's heads spin.

That was also when the discreet pilfering began—with the silent approval of the officers and guild leaders.

Soldiers started slipping entire bags of coins into their clothes until they were so stuffed they could barely walk.

"We're fucking rich!"

"With this much money I don't even need to stay a soldier. I could open a shop in the city!"

The soldiers dreamed happily of their bright futures while clutching their stolen gold.

---

"Is all of this from the Iron Bank?" Pointing-Rat asked, taking a thick stack of documents from Flying Bat.

"These are deeds for the Iron Bank's shops, shipping fleets, and all the IOUs from everyone who borrowed from them here in Braavos," Flying Bat explained.

Pointing-Rat's eyes lit up. "Holy shit, these are valuable too!"

"Heh. Everything in the Iron Bank is valuable—except the people," Flying Bat laughed.

"You're right. Stay here and watch over things. I'm heading back to report to Brother Wei. We can't let any of these debtors slip away!" Pointing-Rat slapped his subordinate on the shoulder and strode off.

Flying Bat watched his boss leave, scratched his head, and muttered, "Are we… collecting debts for the Iron Bank now?"

Soon that mini "mountain of gold" in the form of contracts landed in Viserys's hands.

"Your idea is excellent. How could this be the Iron Bank's money? This is clearly my money now!" Viserys slammed the stack of contracts onto the table. "Pass my orders: Lock down the entire city! No one leaves! Round up every debtor whose repayment date is approaching!"

"Yes, Your Grace! Not a single copper will escape Your Majesty's grasp!" Pointing-Rat shouted excitedly.
