"What do you think you're doing?!" Zee stood up, giving Cindy a hard shove on the shoulder.
Cindy's face turned crimson. She grabbed Zee by the collar. "Listen, oh so SMART Zee, I won't let you beat all my grades! I don't want Dad constantly comparing my scores to yours!"
"You should study harder so your brain doesn't turn STUPID! Don't blame people who have higher grades than you!" Zee snapped, her eyes defiant, not feeling a shred of fear.
"Hey, do you realize you can even go to school because of my dad?" Cindy growled. She snatched a plastic cup of water held by one of her friends. With overflowing anger, she took off the lid and dumped the contents all over Zee's face in a brutal motion.
"That's just a warning! It's only the beginning for you!" Cindy said coldly, then turned and left, leaving Zee frozen, her breath hitched, struggling to contain the surge of anger in her chest.
Not long after, David arrived. He knelt and carefully picked up Zee's wet, trampled book.
