At the gym, the automatic glass doors slid open. The thrumming music and the faint scent of sweat greeted them.
"Go straight to the treadmill section," Jonathan said, coming to a halt. "I'm going to the consultation room first."
"Okay," Zee replied, her tone still heavy and lethargic. She walked toward the row of running machines, which were already busy.
Without them noticing, a pair of eyes watched from the mezzanine level. Heri witnessed their arrival, seeing how Zee and Jonathan walked in together. A knowing smile played on his lips.
Heri rushed down and approached Jonathan, who had just finished putting his gym bag in the locker room.
"Ooh, looks like someone came in together," Heri teased, nudging Jonathan's arm. "Come on, getting closer, aren't you? Don't tell me you two were together last night?"
Jonathan didn't respond to the joke at all. His expression was flat. He ignored Heri, turned directly away, and strode quickly out of the room.
