Amidst the thundering clatter of iron and the heavy bass of dance music from the gym's main hall, Heri approached Jonathan, who was seated on a flat bench lacing up his sneakers.
"Jo, please, you have to help me," Heri pleaded, his voice strained and panicked to compete with the music. He wiped sweat from his temple. "I've already accepted a down payment, and out of nowhere, my trainer suffered a severe injury."
Jonathan wore a look of boredom, then stood up and lifted a light barbell to warm up. "I'll give you the money. Just return the deposit, or hire a new trainer."
"It's not that easy, Jo! Finding a professional trainer who is also a doctor is rare," Heri complained, emphasizing the word doctor.
"I'm on leave from the hospital, Her. I want to relax. I want to stay away from anything related to work," Jonathan replied coldly as he set the barbell back down.
