Chapter 45. New Relation
Her amber eyes literally lit up with intense fascination.
She leaned forward, hanging on every single word, her mind absorbing the modern survival tricks I was tossing out like a dry sponge soaking up water.
"Wow... you can actually trap the heat like that?" Luna whispered, completely amazed by the concept of floor insulation.
"Yeah, it keeps the cold air from rising through the stone floor," I replied cheerfully, reaching over to pat her shoulder. "You're really smart for catching on so fast, Luna. You're going to do great."
The second the compliment left my mouth, Luna instantly stiffened.
Her cheeks flushed a deep, embarrassed crimson, and she quickly slapped my hand away, reverting right back to her aloof, distant demeanor.
"Hmph! It's not that impressive," she muttered, turning her face away from me to stare intently at the crackling fire. "Anyone could figure that out if they wanted to."
