Chapter 37 - Genseki's Dream

The world shifts back into Liora walks through a field that slowly changes from dark red Spider Lilies into pure white lilies, symbols of rebirth and cleansing.

After a few moments, the entire field is filled with white lilies. Liora stands in the middle of the beautiful scenery for a full minute before a gate suddenly appears out of nowhere in the blink of an eye — a white gate surrounded by white lilies.

Without hesitation, Liora steps forward and enters it.

The world instantly changes into a massive maze made entirely from Liora's own power: ice.

The white gate behind her vanishes just as quickly as it appeared, disappearing without explanation.

Liora begins questioning herself. What kind of ability or move is this? How could she be trapped inside her own powers while remembering absolutely nothing? Something feels wrong, deeply wrong, but she cannot figure out what it is.

She walks through the maze searching for an exit, only to end up back where she started.

Wall after wall, step after step, she continues moving in circles. There is no map, no signs, no clues of any kind. She is completely trapped inside an endless loop that feels impossible to break.

Genseki wakes up in the middle of a void, surrounded by absolute nothingness.

There is only him and the sound of his own heartbeat. It feels as though he is floating through space without stars, swallowed by pure dark energy.

Genseki looks around desperately for help.

A man in early adulthood stands beside him as a glowing white figure.

It is the only white thing within this endless darkness, and simply looking at it feels paranormal. Even Genseki's own body is hidden by the void; the only thing visible is that mysterious figure.

Genseki tries to stand, but the figure suddenly punches him directly in the face, sending him flying through the void.

He attempts to stop himself, but he cannot even feel his legs. He is simply... floating.

The same figure that struck him suddenly appears behind him as though it had teleported instantly.

It stops Genseki in place with no effort at all.

The figure flicks its fingers once.

Everything immediately changes. Genseki is still inside the void, but now he can feel the ground beneath him. He can finally see his own body again.

He stands and stares at the strange figure.

The white surface covering the figure begins cracking, as though reality itself is malfunctioning. Black and white glitches spread across its body while fragments of an actual human form appear beneath it. Its hair flickers wildly between white, red, yellow, and pink, changing colors at random as if trying to convey some hidden message.

The figure slowly walks away while still glitching violently.

Genseki tries to follow it, but his body refuses to move forward.

He can feel himself running. He can feel the energy in every step. Yet his body remains completely motionless, as though the universe itself has broken.

Either the figure is impossibly fast... or something is holding Genseki in place.

Eventually, the white figure becomes nothing more than a tiny dot in the distance.

Genseki stops struggling and stands still, catching his breath even though he has not moved a single inch.

He looks around for answers.

Then he blinks once.

Everything changes.

Suddenly, he is witnessing the very beginning of his own life.

A newborn baby opens his eyes while crying in front of a shrine, abandoned and completely alone.

A black figure appears and gently lifts the baby into its arms as though it were his father.

Present-day Genseki desperately tries to remember whether he ever truly had a father, but he cannot remember anything like this. He cannot remember anyone ever carrying him this way. Either it never happened... or he simply forgot.

The vision changes again.

He finds himself inside a small house filled with human limbs scattered across the room. An actual human heart lies discarded on the carpet as though it were just another toy.

Years pass.

Genseki grows up beside the strange black figure, learning, eating, and living with someone whose face he can never truly see.

Nothing especially traumatic happens during those years. There is simply bonding, routine, and silence.

Still, the sight of human organs scattered around the house would feel horrifying to anyone else.

To Genseki, however, it feels normal — like looking at toys or pieces inside the human body.

Years later, Genseki reaches the age of ten and becomes frighteningly strong, capable of breaking a wall apart with a single punch.

One day, the same black figure that raised him leads him underground.

The figure makes sure Genseki closes the door behind them before guiding him safely deeper below.

Eventually, they arrive at the very laboratory where everything began.

Genseki becomes the second person to enter the laboratory after Liora.

Surprisingly, Liora is cold toward him during their first meeting. Still, she forces a polite smile, trying not to ruin things immediately.

Genseki raises his hand for a handshake, but Liora respectfully avoids it, clearly trying to avoid physical contact as much as possible.

A day later, another girl enters the laboratory.

She is lazy-looking, with dark circles beneath her eyes, blonde hair, and bright golden-yellow eyes.

Akari enters the lab and immediately clings to Genseki without saying a word. She casually leans against his shoulder and falls asleep without permission, completely invading his personal space.

Although surprised, Genseki lets her sleep anyway because she seems strangely cute and different from everyone else.

The scene suddenly shifts to the famous explosion from months ago.

Genseki, Hayaru, and Akari are together, while Liora, Zeka, and Hayato are nowhere to be found.

Even though the explosion is deafening, Akari continues sleeping on Genseki's shoulder as though nothing happened.

Without hesitation, Genseki lifts her into a princess carry and begins running as far from the explosion as possible.

Hayaru runs behind him, staying alert in case strange creatures appear throughout the city.

The vision shifts again.

Now Genseki is inside the mansion, asleep in a separate bedroom.

He suddenly wakes after hearing a faint crack from the roof.

He approaches the window, trying to see who is up there, but finds nothing.

Then he looks downward.

A flying bomb appears beneath him and explodes in a burst of heat and destruction.

Without thinking, Genseki immediately jumps through the window to chase whoever threw it — but one of the white wolves kicks him away midair, sending him crashing into the kitchen.

He slams into the refrigerator hard enough to shatter it into pieces.

Without even questioning what is happening, Genseki gets back up and rushes toward the window again, but several white wolves block his path.

He tries to dodge past them, but they immediately force him back.

Genseki throws one of his rocks toward them. Only two wolves are hit while the others charge straight at him.

Genseki handles them like toys.

He grabs one wolf by the head and crushes it against another in a horrifying display of strength from a ten-year-old child.

Then, suddenly—

Everything disappears. the void.

Genseki is still throwing punches into empty air as though the battle were still happening before he finally realizes it was all just a vision.

Now he stands within a field filled with beautiful white lilies.

He crouches down and gently picks one of the flowers.

Holding it carefully, he admires its beauty and, for the first time in a long while, feels strangely safe.

And unlike everything else around him, the flower does not change.

The lily remains pure white, untouched, and perfectly still.
