Chapter 198 - Chapter 198: Heroes in Shock

"Ellis, next I will be performing a special ritual at this location."

Lucas spoke calmly to Ellis through the video call.

"This ritual is extremely important. It concerns the future of humanity."

Ellis's expression shifted slightly as he immediately asked,

"What do you need me to do?"

"Although I will soon be standing trial, I can still exercise my authority before that happens."

"Whether it's deploying troops to secure the area or using political influence to rally support, I will do everything in my power."

Lucas replied bluntly,

"You've misunderstood. What I'm saying is that what I'm about to do may cause some… unusual phenomena."

"I need you to explain this to the public in advance, to prevent unnecessary panic or complications."

Ellis frowned slightly.

"I won't ask what kind of ritual you're performing, but how exactly do you want me to explain it to the public?"

"That's your job—and your PR team's," Lucas retorted without courtesy.

"If I could explain it myself, why would I bother contacting you?"

Ellis fell silent for a moment, then nodded.

"I understand. I'll handle it."

The call ended.

'Matthew Ellis… not a bad man. Once this is over, I should find a way to help him.'

Having made that decision, Lucas focused all his attention on the resurrection itself.

He raised his hand.

Lois's body was immediately enveloped by Lucas's energy and slowly lifted into the air.

A faint aura flared around Lucas as thin strands of energy seeped into Lois's body.

Like countless probes, the energy vibrated subtly, transmitting every detail of her physical condition back to Lucas.

It was similar to a bat's echolocation—or deep-sea sonar.

Bones, nerves, blood vessels, organs—these were only the most basic layers.

What Lucas needed was a far deeper structural map.

As he increased the output of his energy, his perception pierced down to the cellular level.

Everyone knew that the human body was composed of cells—between forty and sixty trillion of them in an average adult.

With cell diameters ranging from five to two hundred micrometers, fully mapping every cell was an astronomical task—utterly impossible for an ordinary person.

Yet Lucas was doing exactly that.

Behind him, countless points of light began to gather.

On closer inspection, these light points were forming a pattern.

Soon, the pattern became clear and complete—

It was a human body, with even the faint outline of a fetus visible in the abdomen.

Any highly skilled surgeon present—internal or external—would have been utterly stunned.

The energy-constructed body was flawless, without the slightest error.

Under microscopic observation, it would appear that even its cellular structure was perfectly synchronized with Lois's original body.

Even Clark couldn't help but inhale sharply at the sight.

At that moment, a red-and-gold figure streaked in from the distance—

Iron Man, Tony Stark.

Flying alongside him was Deadshot in his "Zoe" bio-armor, while a modified Quinjet followed closely behind.

Clark moved in a blur, positioning himself directly in front of Tony, blocking his path.

Tony knew exactly how powerful Clark was and immediately halted.

He had no desire to see his armor scrapped by crashing into Superman.

As Tony stopped, the Quinjet also landed nearby.

Nick Fury, Captain America, Falcon, Black Widow, Banner, and the others stepped out, all turning their eyes toward Lucas, who hovered dozens of meters away in midair.

"I hope none of you intend to interfere," Clark said solemnly, his gaze sharp and unyielding.

"Is something wrong with Lucas?" Tony asked quickly.

They had seen President Ellis's sudden announcement on television, followed by Nick Fury's urgent summons.

Everyone assumed something catastrophic had happened.

Tony had rushed over in a half-finished suit, fearing Lucas might be in danger.

Clark swept his gaze across everyone present and said firmly,

"He is trying to revive Lois. Until he finishes, I will not allow anyone to disturb him."

"What?!"

Shock rippled through the group.

Revival.

It was a word they all knew—yet one that felt impossibly distant.

From ancient times to the present, "resurrection" had always carried an irresistible allure.

And now, Lucas was actually attempting it.

Every person there was filled with questions.

They all wanted to move closer—to see how Lucas was doing it.

But Clark stood firmly in their way.

Nick Fury spoke up,

"Clark, do you know exactly how Lucas plans to revive Lois?"

Clark shook his head.

"I don't. I only know that no one is allowed to get close to him."

Seeing the warning in Clark's eyes, Nick Fury unconsciously stepped back.

Still, if they couldn't approach, there were other ways.

"JARVIS."

As Tony spoke, his suit's eyes projected a three-dimensional holographic display several meters ahead.

It showed Lucas and Lois's position in perfect clarity.

Clark frowned slightly but did not stop him.

Truthfully, he also wanted to see how Lucas intended to revive Lois.

Everyone focused their attention on the hologram.

"What's that projection behind Lucas?" Captain America asked, pointing at the gradually refining humanoid light construct.

JARVIS immediately responded,

"Sir, spectral analysis indicates that Mr. Lucas is constructing a complete human anatomical structure."

"The subject of this construct matches the deceased individual—Ms. Lois Lane."

"The reconstruction has already reached the cellular micrometer level, and Mr. Lucas is continuing to probe into even more microscopic layers."

The group was stunned once again.

They might not know the exact number of human cells—but they all knew it was a figure beyond comprehension.

For people like Banner and Tony, the shock ran even deeper.

Because Lucas was shattering their understanding of reality itself.

He wasn't using any instruments.

No machines.

No supercomputers.

He was relying purely on his own mind—simulating a human body down to such an extreme level of precision.

What kind of mental capacity did that require?

The deeper they thought about it, the more horrifying—and awe-inspiring—it became.

Tony and Banner exchanged glances, both silently shaken.
