" I don't think it was a good idea." said Sienna as they reached bellow the snow cliffs.
"What are you saying?, it would be fun. We just have to figure out , how will we go up there.?
Max looked at Curt and smilled " We don't have to worry about things like that right?."
" That is right Curt , leave everything to me. What you need to do is to have fun."
John looked at the cliff and put two fingers in his mouth and made a low whistle,
" Fweee... Fweeet... "
They also looked up towards the cliff , it looked like snow was moving and coming towards them. All three them stepped backwards. John told them not to worry, it was not snow that coming down but a herd of mountain goats. This was their first time seeing a large group of snow mountains goats climbing down.
Snow mountain goats have masterclass in defying gravity on vertical cliffs. They have developed a specialized hooves with rubber-like pads for grip.they use their dewclaws for braking, and flattening their bodies against rock when descending to safely and to navigate steep, icy descents.
There were almost more than twenty of them as they surrounded them. John walked forward as he brought near his hands near the head of mountain goat and gave a pat. Other kids were shocked that how he had no fear. The one John was pating was the leader of the group and was large like a hoarse and had two large black horns that can uproot trees.
It moved head closer to the chest of John , seeing this John smilled as he hugged the head of the mountain goat. " It is so cute." said Sienna as she looked at them.
" I don't think it should be considered cute."
" Yes , you are right Curt. That is not cute but awesome , I also want to pat one. " said Max and moved towards the nearby mountain Goat. It didn't move and sterred at Max as he came near it. The mountain goat allowed Max to pat him as the group leader was looking towards it , saying do not harm any of them.
After seeing that Curt and Sienna also followed and played with mountain goats.
John climbed the mountain goat and said to do the same by picking whichever they like. Both Max and Curt climbed the goats , which they were playing with.
" I didn't know he had beast taming talent."
" I don't think it needs beast taming talent to get accepted by mountain goat. By the way, he is my son so naturally he inherited it from me."
" You know, you have not visited your snow cat from long time ."
"Yeh, it was long ago. She might allready have become a mother of few children. She has a long lifespan as she had a pure blood line among her beast races."
Cedar and Selena were both talking to each other as they were maintaining safe distance so no one can notice them.
" It is easy, it would not hurt you." Even after hearing it from her brother Seinns was afraid to ride it.
" It's okay, you should go. I will wait here for all of you."
" We don't want to let you feel left out." " It's okay John, I was only here for watching you slide down again." After realising what she blushed as her cheeks became red. She screamed and corrected herself saying " I mean to all of you having fun. Nothing else."
" I have an idea. With this she will also able to come with us." Hearing this Max looked at Curt asked " what is it? . We don't have much more time or someone might see us."
" Why don't John you let her ride with you ?. Other mountain goats are small , but one you are riding is way bigger than others."
" That is a good idea. Wouldn't you allow my sister to come with you. Please."
" What are you both even saying ?. Me riding with him." Sienna murmured and as her ears also got red.
She only got out of the daze when John gave her a hand as he gestured mountain goat to go near her. She also moved her hand towards the John as he grabbed and pulled her behind him.
" Are you feeling well? *
" Yes I am fine.". " Okay than, you should try to hold on tight, or you might fall."
Sienna nodded as she grabbed John from behind.
John looked at Max and Curt, giving them signal as all mountain goats started run towards the cliff and started to climb it.
Sienna screamed and hugged the back of John and closed her eyes she looked bellow.
" Like this you would not enjoy the ride. Open eyes and look upward. "
" Yeh, he is right you should open your eyes. You will love it ." said Max as he was following just behind with Curt.
Sienna opened her eyes and what see is , a blue sky was getting closer. Sun which could hardly seen due to mountains and clouds, was now visible like never before. Yellow and red light was coming out of it , for only small but still beautiful as the tips of the mountains were shining yellow. The clouds around the sun had also some parts covered with red and yellow light , creating a beautiful picture of nature.
John started to hum a song after a nostalgia hit him like a cold breeze from ocean.
" It's amazing, did you made it? ."
" No, I heard it somewhere long ago."
" Oh."
' long ago isn't he almost same age as me ? He is making fun of me.'
He started humming again , trying remember the name ' it was called mellow by play cold. It was one of the only comfort zones I had. Songs, one of the best creations done by humans in my previous life.
This were the thought of John, who had again remembered something from his previous life. But this time it was something good.
" I could see the whole city from here. You see that is the new building being made for adventurers and hunters , The Citadel guild." said Curt.
" That is not all. Did you hear about a building that will be made near the guild. My father told someone from Engrasia city had travelled a few days ago."
"Woo oo, but what does that mean?'
"It means, it's being made by him. And no one knows for what?."
" We have reached at the top. You can relax and If possible we should get down from him. Or he might Kick down us."
Sienna climbed down immediately and apologized to John as she got embarrassed.
John pated the Mountain goat for last time, after that it made a sound, signling everyone in it's group to follow him.
" Hey, Sienna come here. We could see the city from here."
" Who wants to see the place what we see daily, I rather watch the snow mountains." As she pouted and looked at opposite direction of the city in north, the snow mountains.
All of the three started to play with snow, seeing them he remembered that a children should enjoy their childhood to their best.
' I should also enjoy my childhood little bit.' thought John as he also joined in playing with them.
After some time,
" Who wants to slide down first?"
" Why don't you go first, Max. By the way it was your Idea in first place."
" Yeah, you are right. That was the plan from beginning. I can do it to." said Max.
"Are you ready? "
Max walked near the edge of the cliff where John was standing.
" Yes , I am." Max gulped down as he looked bellow.
At certain distance away,
" Should not we stop them , it might be dangerous for normal children."
"Honney, you should relax. It is not that dangerous."
"Is it, if you say so darling."
The place John had choocen to slide down was a diagonal slope , it didn't had any bumps or obstacles in the way.
John gave a small flat wooden piece to Max so he can seat on it.
" Here we go "
John pushed Max towards the diagonal slope. " Aaaaaaa ... It's awesome." Screamed Max as he started to go down in full speed from the cliff.
" That is fun. Isn't it ? I want to go next."
Curt went towards John and told him that he wanted to go next. Curt went second for the slide as he also screamed loudly but got control him self as he could feel the cold air hiting him on the face.
John was using his own mana to keep the both of their direction and speed in control.
John had let go only one person ahead for the ride to check that how much concentration he will needed to make it work and after seeing the results he got more confident and let Curt also go for the ride even before Max complete his ride.
John found out that trying to control two of them to go down the slide at same time might be his limit for now.
Max looked behind as he heard a voice trying to call him , and it was none other than Curt who was just following behind Max with full speed.
" I will be the one to reach first." declared Curt as he was getting near the Max
" Do you really believe that , you can beat me. I have always won , you remember right."
Sienna also came towards the cliff to watch the race.
" Should we go down to? "
" I don't think, I can handle it."
" I know, that is why I am saying that you can come with me."
"Than I might try" Said Sienna as she looked away from John.
Sienna seated on wooden board, while John stended behind her. As John saw both Max and Curt had reached the surface , he pushed both of them with slite push from his lag.
Sienna started to scream on top of her lungs as she looked how fast they were going downward. But behind those screams and fear , she knew that it was exciting and fun.
" It was obvious, you won . If I had started first and you have started after me than the winner might have been different."
" So what ? I dared to start first so I won."
" You guys should stop it. Didn't we all enjoyed it together." said John
" Yeah, he is right. " said Sienna.
" I think it is getting late so we should go." said John .
" We can meet everyday and have fun together right? " asked Max
" Yes , we are friends so we will meet everyday."
" Hold on , don't you have to go for mana appraisal ceremony." said Sienna.
" How did I forget about that. Tomorrow will be best day of my life. Sorry John , we would not be able meet tomorrow."
" It's okay. We will have fun next time. By the what you were talking about ?"
" Oh the ceremony, it is a once year program in our city where the priest of the church comes and checks Mana aptitude of young children that the age of ten and above. I have already turned ten one month ago. This two are still one year younger than me. " said Max and also said proudly that he was the older one.
' They might think, that I have same age as them. I don't think that it is a good idea to tell my age to them.' thought John as he was suprised hearing their age.
When John got asked that what was his age, or he was attending the ceremony to ? . He said that he was the same age as both Curt and Sienna., so he would not attend the ceremony.
After talking for a while they promised to meet again after two days and separated to go home.
Selena and Cedar were sitting in the leaving as the John entered the house. They both started to ask questions about his day, if he had made friends, how he played with friends and their names
John hearing them asking those almost got a thought , is this for real. As he allready knew that both of his parents were keeping eyes on him for whole day.
