The two walked out of the alley
The sky was dark, but the yellow lamplight
Allowed the streets to glow
Autumn was walking beside Thomas
Looking around as the wagons passed by
She was half limping, half trying to walk properly
Thomas moved closer
Holding her hand
"Been awhile since you walked, hasn't it?" He asked
Autumn smiled, looking down at the concrete
People passed by
Some chatting, some looking busy
The buildings were built from wood
Each with lamps near the entrance
There were multiple roads leading to different districts
Just ahead, a couple stood
A wagon pulled up. The couple climbed in before the wagon rode off
It then took a right
A sign on the corner read:
Pelcan
"Ooh, jeesh" Autumn looked around anxiously
"First up is the bar.." Thomas said, dragging Autumn across the street
"Woah! Hey!" Autumn yelled, almost falling
Half way across the street, a wagon swerved
The horse neighed, twisting out of the kids' way
The wagon almost tipped onto its sides
It continued speeding
"You damn brats!!!" The driver shouted from the window
People were looking at them
"What the hell!!" Autumn shouted
Thomas didn't answer
His cheeks flushed
He immediately entered the bar
As they entered, two guys were arm wrestling
The bartender was busy serving two guys
"Oi you bastards!!"
"I'll kill you for that!!"
A glass bottle shattered
Chatter filled the room
"We're bound to hear some tales at this place."
Autumn nodded
Before they could take the first step
"You gotta be kidding me." A rough voice cut through the noise
The two turned
A tall, muscular, black bald man was staring at them
He studied them keenly
From head to toe
"It's like you ain't even trying" he said
"Uh, what do you mean?" Thomas asked.
"Come on, quit playing and leave now!"
Thomas and Autumn were about to turn when...
A man entered from the side door
Along with two other men in black and white jumpsuits
The bartender opened the door behind the counter
And entered with the rest of the men
Immediately another guy started bartending
He Looked exactly like the first
No one noticed
The two exchanged glances
The bald man suddenly got serious
He tried reaching, but Autumn kicked him in the nuts
The man bent over instinctively
Thomas charged his arm with flames
Then drove his elbow in the back of his head
With a grunt, the man went limp
They propped him against the wall after
"Let's go now " Thomas said
They walked right through the chaos
With a flicker of his finger
He pitched a fireball in a guy's rum cup
It burst into flames instantly
"Aaaagh!!" The guy shouted
He instinctively threw it at another guy
The man stumbled up, wailing in pain
Flames spreading over his body
As the panicked others watched
The bar erupted into chaos instantly
As some of the flames got flashed elsewhere
The bartender instantly went out to assist
Thomas and Autumn kept walking
Completely unnoticed
He hopped over the table and reached for the door
Locked
Thomas gripped the knob
His hand tensed
With one pull, the door knob came off
He pushed and entered
...
Though the chaos raged outside
Inside was a long, dark tunnel-like passage
The two began walking
"You know this might not have anything to do with Leo right?" Autumn asked
"Those guys were shady" Thomas muttered "Surely they know something"
The two began moving quickly
To catch up to the men
Soon the chaos outside was no longer heard
The two continued moving swiftly
Autumn was floating tho
Soon voices were heard
The duo slowed
Just around the corner
Was the 4 men
The bartender and the guy that entered with the 2 men in jumpsuits
"Damn witch!" The bartender cursed in a hushed tone
"You can't be fucking serious?" A Mohawk jumpsuit guy said to them
"I'm telling ya mate.."
"The royals are dead"
...
A chilling silence rang through the tunnel
"What is that bitch planning?" asked the bartender
They reached a circular space and began rummaging... opening drawers
Books and pictures of the human body
Blue marks and points were mapped all over the body
Everyone searched except the dark-skinned man in the jumpsuit
He was looking at his trembling hands
Breath hitching
"I-I'm telling ya Richie... I can't cast" the man whimpered, breath hitching
"Sealing magic mate... It'll wear off" The British guy answered
He held a vial with eye balls inside.
They were glowing blue
He stuffed it in a duffle bag
"Hurry! we leave in two minutes" The bartender hushed
They all began packing their duffle
Thomas and Autumn were peeking around the corner
"Tsk...if the royals are dead" Thomas clenched his jaw and stopped peeking
"We have to confront them" Autumn whispered
"No...not yet" Thomas replied
"We'll be left in the dark again..can't you see something crazy is happening"
Autumn looked at Thomas
"They must know something about Leo
Before Thomas could answer
Autumn stepped out of hiding
But instantly she froze
Thomas stepped beside her
He froze too
The men were gone
The place was still ransacked
The cupboard-like door swung back and forth
With a repeated squeak
"What the..... fuck?" Thomas entered the space
Autumn followed
Thomas walked cautiously
He rested his hand on the squeaking door
It stopped
"That's...impossible" Autumn muttered
She turned looking at Thomas
"ZABADEE" A dark voice muttered
Suddenly the British guy appeared behind them
Thomas turned instantly
His hands burst into flames
Raw red energy crackled across his body, petrifying him
The energy continued crawling across him
Autumn was frozen beside him, with purple crackling energy petrifying her, from the bartender
"Fucking spies, Innit" Richie said
The bartender sighed
"Ugh, fire magic.." The Mohawk jumpsuit looked at Thomas
The darkest kin who couldn't cast
Was at a good distance behind them
"Quit being a pussé and blast this fuck" Richie said to the dark skinned
The guy nervously stepped forward
He aimed his hands at Autumn
"No!" A muffled scream from Autumn
She began struggling even tho the energy still held her in place
The bartender narrowed his focus
"You're strong he muttered"
She wiggled harder
The bartender began to skid
Almost like he's pushing against an invisible force
He swung his hands
Autumn slammed into the corner wall
Cracking the wall
She went limp
Seeing this Thomas growled
He shifted, muscles tensing
"I'll kill you!" His screams muffled
The energy still held him in place
"Holy shit what are these guys?" The Mohawk asked
Suddenly the dark skinned one felt to his knees
" I-I can't " he panted
"That's concerning.. " The bartender muttered
"We aren't spies, we need answers" Thomas said
The bartender aimed his hands at Thomas
A blue light started charging
"There's a mad woman here that took control of our friend!" Thomas shouted
"I don't know what she wants, but as long as he's on her side you won't win!"
The blue light charged
"I-I know why she's killing the royals!" He shouted
The blue light stopped charging
The bartender looked at Richie
"He's bluffing" Richie answered
The light began to charge
Thomas eyes went wide
"Oh..oh fuck"
Everything went white
....
"What the hell?" One of them muttered
The light faded
Thomas blinked a few times
He couldn't see
But he could hear
It was a shocking sound
Not something you'd expect to hear in a tunnel
A whistle
Far off around the corner
Slowly getting closer
The four men became alert
Thomas felt as the crackling energy dispersed
He fell to his knees
"What the hell is happening?" He asked
No one answered
Soon his vision came back to normal
A whistling figure rounded the corner
Thomas struggled to focus
The figure was blurry
"What the hell?" The bartender muttered
Soon Thomas focused
The figure was drenched in blood
Eyes cold
Hair long and messy
Untamed
"Leo?" Thomas called
"Just one?"The Mohawked one smirked
"ZARL" he muttered
He aimed his hands
Instantly Leo appeared In front of him
Catching his hands
The spell exploded before it could be fired
Blasting away the Mohawked man's hand
"Raaaagh!" He screamed
His friends were too shocked to move
Instantly the Mohawked one tried running
He twisted and turned
But Leo grabbed him the head
Pulling him back
He grabbed the back of his neck with the other hand
Then everything slowed
The terrified look of the Mohawk man
Eyes wide
Sweat
Thomas could even see tears
Then his head was ripped from his body
His spinal cord is still attached to it
Blood shot upward from the body, splashing across Leo
But he never muttered a word
He just kept staring
Eyes, daring you to run
He stared at them all
He stared at Thomas
