Everything was foggy. After.
After Chase and Greyson.
One moment I was pounding his face in and the next, I open my eyes to Mely, forcing more awful drink down my throat.
It smelled bad. Like rotten egg. It made me weak and foggy.
Not the kind of fog that comes from feeling sleepy.
This was thicker. Heavier. Like someone was actively pushing my head under water to quiet me. And the more I grasp to hold on, I slipped deeper.
I could hear voices all around me, but they were far away. Kess was so far away. He sounded muffled. Like they were talking through a wall.
"What are you giving her?" Kess asked touching my cheek. "Keep your eyes open, come on. Keep your eyes open"
Mely nudged him aside.
"I'm trying to preserve whatever dragon life force is left in her," Mely snapped. "She shouldn't have been using her powers, no unlimited dragon to draw powers from... limited dragon life Force. This should be simple"
