Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Nisha — “The Captain Is So Awesome!”

Forget the mission — even without rewards, Steve Rogers wasn't about to let such a beautiful woman slip away!

Besides, it wasn't just her beauty that intrigued him. He was fascinated by her identity as both a vampire and a princess.

What's the best part about vampires?

Longevity.

Ordinary vampires could live for two or three centuries, as long as they had enough blood. Pure-blooded vampires, however, could live for thousands of years. Aside from their weakness to sunlight, they could practically live forever in the dark.

And that wasn't all — vampires also possessed greater physical strength and three times the speed of an ordinary human.

Longevity and power — two things that made any race capable of amassing immense wealth over time.

That was exactly what Steve valued.

Only with money could one develop true strength.

He couldn't rely on Tony Stark for everything, especially when it came to technology. But he could rely on Hydra's laboratories.

As long as he secured enough funding and built strong connections, Hydra's resources would give him unimaginable advantages.

That was why Steve had no intention of rejecting Nisha. Besides, with her snow-white skin and flawless beauty — if he turned her away, he might as well be struck by lightning!

"I don't care who you are," Steve said coldly, tightening his grip around Nisha. "Get lost! She's my girlfriend now."

He turned to her and said with a grin, "Tell him — whose woman are you?"

Nisha wanted to de-escalate the situation, but before she could say anything, Steve went further — he pulled her into his lap.

Her cheeks flushed crimson. Anger, embarrassment, and confusion flickered across her face, yet she forced out a soft answer.

"Of course… I'm yours."

Steve smirked. "You heard her. Now get out of here! See? Tony and Rhodey are my lifelong brothers. We've been through hell together!"

He deliberately dragged Tony and Rhodes into it so they couldn't just sit back and watch.

Tony blinked in disbelief. Wow, Captain America, the so-called symbol of justice, can really play dirty!

Rhodes was equally dumbfounded. I just came here for a drink. How did this turn into a bar fight?

As the Rockefeller family's youngest son, Deka Rockefeller couldn't tolerate such humiliation.

"You bastard!" Deka shouted, pointing at Steve's face. "Take your filthy hands off her! How dare you talk back to me? Come on, beat him to death! I'll take responsibility!"

Legal punishment? That didn't scare him.

After all, the judges were all lapdogs for the wealthy elite — they'd never convict a Rockefeller.

Deka was arrogant to the point of delusion, even daring to ignore Tony Stark himself.

Stark Industries? he thought. A glorified company. You think being on the Forbes list makes you rich? What a joke.

His lackeys didn't hesitate. Once Deka gave the order, they charged forward with a roar, smashing chairs and bottles as they came.

Steve stood up with one arm around Nisha and grabbed a beer bottle.

Bang!

The first man who came close was sent flying by the bottle.

But the rest didn't back off. They rushed him like a pack of wolves.

Crash!

Steve kicked one of them square in the chest. The man flew several meters, knocking down a few more in the process.

Steve stood there, calm and unshaken, still holding Nisha protectively. His presence was powerful, commanding — and the sight made several women in the nightclub blush uncontrollably.

Tony and Rhodes exchanged glances.

"Should we step in?" Rhodes asked. As an officer, he still had to think about appearances.

Tony's expression shifted from cautious to annoyed. "What are you afraid of? Let's go!"

Rhodes sighed — and then grinned. Fine. If we're in this, we're in this together.

Tony grabbed a bottle and hurled it across the room.

Thud!

Deka was hit square in the head — ironically, by his own bodyguard who had been thrown by Steve moments earlier.

Steve walked over, planted his foot on Deka's face, and said coldly, "Don't mess with me, kid. If you do it again, I'll make you a eunuch."

Deka wanted to shout back, but when he met Steve's icy blue eyes, his words froze in his throat.

Behind him, his lackeys were writhing on the floor, moaning in pain. Bones cracked from Steve's effortless kicks.

Terrified, Deka trembled — and then lost control of his bladder.

Nisha saw it too. Disgust flashed across her eyes as she leaned closer to Steve, her voice soft but admiring.

The captain is so awesome!

Even though Deka was from one of the most powerful families in America — one that held influence over the U.S. military through oil interests — Steve had humiliated him without hesitation.

As Nisha leaned against his shoulder, she felt a strange sense of security.

The nightclub security guards looked at each other but didn't dare move. None of them wanted to get between this man and his target.

Steve adjusted his jacket, turned to Tony and Rhodes, and said casually, "Help yourselves. I'm going to get a room."

Tony and Rhodes were speechless.

This guy doesn't hold back at all.

Steve later drove a motorcycle through the night, Nisha seated behind him. When she tried to escape, he held her firmly — there was no getting away.

A vampire bodyguard tailed them from a distance but dared not approach too closely.

When they arrived at a luxurious villa, Steve pushed open the door and let Nisha inside.

He walked to the wine cabinet, pulled out a bottle of red wine, and poured himself a glass.

Nisha had calmed down by then. Instead of running, she kicked off her heels and curled up on the sofa, her slender legs wrapped in sheer stockings. Leaning lazily against the armrest, she asked softly,

"Aren't you afraid the Rockefeller family will come after you?"

Steve handed her a glass of wine and sat beside her, his voice confident. "Why should I be afraid? They're just a bunch of spoiled brats. If they don't bother me, fine. But if they do… I won't stop at an apology."

He casually took her delicate foot into his hand, studying the crescent-shaped curve of her toes with a playful smirk.

Nisha was momentarily speechless.

She knew who he was — not just the legendary Captain America, but one of the most powerful covert figures in the U.S. government.

Even the Vampire Kingdom had to maintain diplomatic relations with people like him.

If not for that, she never would have attended Deka's party — and certainly wouldn't be sitting here now, in Steve Rogers' villa, with her heart beating faster than ever.
