When Raj found Ash, Misty had already healed the Horsea's injuries and was playing with it on the beach.
Suddenly, a ship exploded out at sea, and the sailors aboard jumped into the water to escape.
"What happened to that ship? Why did it suddenly explode?" Ash asked in confusion.
"Is this the time to talk about that? Hurry up and save them! Starmie, Goldeen, and Staryu—go rescue those people!" Misty ordered calmly.
"What are you still standing there for? Go find a boat and help them!"
Raj had already steered their boat over and picked up Ash and the others, heading straight to where the people had fallen into the sea.
The crew members lay motionless on the deck after being pulled aboard.
"What's going on? Why are they like this?" Ash asked anxiously.
"Hurry, inform the president—quickly!"
"I'm the president, Grandma."
"You saved my employees, Grandma. Thank you so much," said the hotel president gratefully.
Raj and the others were stunned. The president turned out to be a woman who looked exactly like Granny Jin—except this one was dressed far more luxuriously, with four handsome men wearing minimal clothing standing beside her.
"Excuse me, have we met in Lampruchi?" Ash asked doubtfully.
"Don't lump me in with that weirdo! She's my cousin—my mother-in-law," the woman said impatiently. "I'm planning to build a resort here that will surpass Blue Pruchi."
"So that massive building out there on the sea—is that part of it?" Raj asked, pointing to the huge structure in the distance.
"Of course! That's the centerpiece—an ultra-luxurious floating hotel: the Paradise Resort!"
She gestured proudly toward the window. "Its crown jewel is the honeymoon suite, surrounded by the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. But those annoying Tentacool always interfere with my project." Her expression turned angry.
"No wonder your workers were paralyzed. They were attacked by Tentacool," Brock said thoughtfully.
"Yes! It's all because of those pests! Thanks to them, tourists keep flocking to Lampruchi instead of my place. It makes me furious just thinking about it!" Grandma Hua said angrily.
"Why do such disgusting creatures even exist? You can't eat them, they're ugly, and they're ruining my business!"
She turned toward the group and smiled slyly. "Hey, you kids are pretty good—you even used Pokémon to save people. How about helping me drive away those Tentacool?"
"Don't worry, I'll make it worth your while! You'll get a year of free five-star meals, one million Poké Dollars, and luxury hotel vouchers!" Grandma Hua said, grinning in a disturbingly enthusiastic way.
Ash was ready to agree but was stopped by the four men.
"We have to get rid of the Tentacool first," Grandma Hua added slyly.
Even Raj looked tempted. A million Poké Dollars was no small amount—especially since earning that much through the system wasn't easy. Money couldn't buy everything, but without money, nothing could get done.
At that moment, Misty suddenly shouted, "I refuse!" and stormed out of the restaurant.
Raj, Ash, and Brock quickly chased after her.
"What's wrong, Misty? Why are you so upset?" Raj asked as they caught up to her.
"That old woman makes me sick! She actually called Tentacool disgusting!" Misty fumed.
"The Tentacool are so cute," she added, her tone softening.
Ash pulled out his Pokédex to check what Tentacool looked like, and both he and Brock sighed helplessly.
"Well, everyone's got their own taste," Raj said with a chuckle. "Actually, I think Tentacool are kind of cute too."
"That's right! Raj knows what he's talking about—great minds think alike!" Misty said proudly, patting him on the shoulder.
Maybe it was Raj's natural affinity for dark or poisonous Pokémon, but he couldn't help but like the fierce-looking ones.
"The lovely Tentacool must have a reason for attacking humans," Raj said thoughtfully.
"Is that really the case?" Ash asked skeptically.
"You know what? Tentacool feel soft and smooth to touch! And their red heads make them look like rubies of the sea!" Misty said dreamily.
Raj and the others were left speechless. "Who said that?" Ash asked blankly.
"I did," Misty replied, glaring.
"Oh boy, you're a completely different person when it comes to Water Pokémon," Ash said with a sigh.
"You just don't understand their charm. Tentacool are adorable, and Horsea is amazing too—it can even draw! There's so much to love about Water-types!"
Just then, the town loudspeaker blared to life.
"Attention everyone! To get rid of those Tentacool blocking our construction, I'm offering a million-dollar reward to anyone who can drive them away! I, Grandma Hua, never go back on my word!"
"Those who want to help improve our lives—and maybe earn a little money—come to the dock now!"
"What is she thinking? Who would actually help her for money? That's so shallow," Misty huffed.
But before she could finish, countless townsfolk came rushing out of their homes yelling, "I'll do it! I'll drive them away!" as they stampeded toward the docks.
Raj chuckled quietly. "It's finally coming… the Tentacruel."
By the time they reached the docks, half the city had gathered. Just as Grandma Hua was about to give her orders, a smoke bomb went off, and three familiar figures appeared.
"Who are you people?" Grandma Hua shouted angrily.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!"
Team Rocket stepped forward confidently.
"Oh, you're not from Blue Pruchi…" Meowth started to say, but before he could finish, Grandma Hua blasted them backward.
"I told you—she's my cousin! Get it wrong again and I'll hit you!" she yelled furiously.
"Hey, you already hit us!" Jessie shouted.
"She's the big sponsor paying the money, meow," Meowth whispered urgently.
"Hahaha! I-I'm sorry, ma'am!" Jessie immediately forced a smile.
"Anyway," James said quickly, "leave the Tentacool to us! We'll handle everything."
Grandma Hua's eyes lit up. "Really? You can drive them away?"
"Of course! Catching jellyfish is our specialty," Jessie said with a flattering grin.
"Fine! Do that, and the million's yours!" Grandma Hua agreed.
At that moment, Raj finally reconnected with the system.
"System! You're finally back! What happened earlier? Why couldn't I reach you?" Raj asked angrily.
"Report: The system experienced a malfunction and entered deep sleep mode. What is the emergency?" the cold mechanical voice replied.
"Do you have anything in the points store that Tentacool can't resist?" Raj asked seriously.
"Yes. Recommended item: Instant Flower Vinegar. Pouring it into the sea will spread rapidly, rendering all Tentacool powerless."
"Perfect," Raj said. He quietly instructed Haunter to sneak the item onto Team Rocket's ship.
His plan was simple: let Team Rocket fight the Tentacool first. Once weakened, Haunter could absorb their energy to strengthen itself. Raj smiled at the thought—his plan was flawless.
"Just have the money ready, Grandma," Team Rocket said confidently.
"The sea has its own laws…" Misty murmured worriedly.
Suddenly, Team Rocket's ship stopped moving.
"What's going on? Why did we stop?" James asked, confused.
They looked around and froze in horror—the sea was completely covered with Tentacool, surrounding their ship from every direction.
"There are so many! Tentacool everywhere!" Jessie screamed.
At that moment, the Instant Flower Vinegar that Raj had placed began to spread through the water.
