Chapter 20 - Sun Breathing

The next morning, in Abel's room.

Abel and Kanae lay on the bed, naked and embracing in sleep.

After a while, Abel slowly opened his eyes, then leaned against the headboard and slowly sat up, letting out a yawn.

Kanae, still asleep, had her arms wrapped around Abel's waist.

Abel smiled and opened his system panel, as he hadn't yet claimed his Peerage gift pack.

[Congratulations, Host, you have received Sun Breathing.]

Looking at the prompt on the light screen, Abel stroked his chin. "Sun Breathing, huh? This reward isn't bad, but I'd rather have Yoriichi's talent."

"By the way, there shouldn't be any problem with a devil using Sun Breathing, right?"

Abel was a bit curious. However, the physical structure of devils and humans should be no different, so there should be no burden in using Sun Breathing.

Then, Abel opened his panel.

[Host: Abel Astaroth]

[Bloodline: Pure-Blooded Devil]

[Abilities: Kankara Formula, Magic Mastery, Magic Fountain, Annihilation Magic, Mangekyo Sharingan (Obito), Sun Breathing]

[Sacred Gear: Innovate Clear, Telos Karma]

[Peerage: Grayfia (Mutated Queen), Miko (Normal Pawn), Kanae (Normak Knight), Elsha (Mutated Pawn*8)]

[Permanent World: Demon Slayer]

"Hmm? Permanent World?" Abel looked at it in confusion.

He then understood that this world had been marked, so he could travel back and forth between his own world and the Demon Slayer world.

"This is an unexpected surprise." Abel couldn't help but sigh as he looked at the panel.

There were still many talented individuals in the Demon Slayer world. He just wondered if he could turn Akaza and Kokushibo into devils. If so, even resurrecting Yoriichi to be his peerage would be acceptable.

Of course, this was just a thought, as his goal was a devil harem.

Closing the panel, Abel took out a book on soul magic and began to read it.

The Demon Slayer world also had souls. He was looking forward to seeing if Muzan would explode if he saw Yoriichi.

Time passed bit by bit.

Kanae, who was holding Abel, slowly opened her eyes.

Her eyes were a bit dazed.

An unfamiliar place, an unfamiliar ceiling.

Where was she?

That's right!

Kanae came to her senses.

She remembered she was fighting an Upper Moon and had summoned a devil.

"Was what happened yesterday a dream?"

"Last night was not a dream."

Hearing the male voice, Kanae's gaze instantly focused. Seeing the naked Abel beside her, her face immediately turned crimson. She was so startled that she almost let out a shout.

Kanae also realized she wasn't wearing any clothes. She instantly rolled up the blanket and huddled in a corner, then pointed at Abel, who was exposing himself in front of her, and asked, "You... who are you?"

"Abel Astaroth."

Listening to Kanae's words, Abel spoke his name, then pulled a sheet to cover his 'little brother' and continued reading his book.

Kanae looked at the scene, both of them were naked.

Then Abel was her husband.

But... her first time was given away in a daze.

Looking at Abel's face, she realized that he seemed somewhat familiar. Kanae quickly remembered, then asked uncertainly, "You... you are a devil?"

"Of course."

Abel put down the book in his hand and looked at Kanae, asking, "By the way, do you feel any discomfort in your body?"

"Discomfort?"

Kanae then realized that she no longer felt pain while breathing, and there was an inexhaustible power within her body.

She said, "Nothing serious."

"It seems the treatment was good."

Kanae was a bit puzzled, her frostbitten lungs should have been difficult to treat.

She asked, "Treatment?"

Abel looked at Kanae and casually said, "I injected my demonic power into your weakened body. Your physique is quite good, and you recovered very quickly."

After hearing Abel's words, Kanae nodded, indicating she understood, but what kind of treatment required one to be naked?

Perhaps understanding her thoughts, Abel continued, "The transfer of demonic power for healing can be done through ordinary contact, but due to your severe frostbite yesterday, intimate contact was necessary for rapid healing."

Kanae, after hearing this explanation, though still a bit shy, reluctantly accepted it. She also accepted the fact that her husband was a devil.

She recalled her battle with the Upper Moon last night, still shaken.

She asked nervously, "What about Upper Moon Two? Was he eliminated?"

"Don't worry. Since I intervened, he was naturally dealt with."

Hearing his words, Kanae breathed a sigh of relief, feeling even more awe for Abel's abilities.

It was good that Upper Moon Two was dead, as his abilities were very unfavorable to swordsmen who used breathing techniques.

"By the way, you are a devil now."

"Ah?!"

...

Meanwhile, in the Demon Slayer world.

The atmosphere in the Demon Slayer Corps was somewhat somber, all the Hashiras were in silence.

After all, the passing of a Hashira was a very big event.

The Wind Hashira left the headquarters without a word while the Stone Hashira silently recited Buddhist scriptures.

The other Hashiras placed a fresh flower on Kanae's cenotaph.

In the Butterfly Mansion.

Kanao stood by the well, wanting to cry but unable to.

Shinobu, meanwhile, wore her sister's last hair ornament. The once lively and cheerful Shinobu had disappeared, and she now wore a mask of a smile. She wanted revenge but didn't know how to find it.

She only knew that Kanae's killer was Upper Moon Two.

Compared to the somber and sad atmosphere of the Demon Slayer Corps, Muzan was furious.

In a villa somewhere in Tokyo.

A child's forehead was currently bulging with veins. Several adult corpses lay nearby, blood pooling on the floor.

That's right, this child was Muzan Kibutsuji.

"What was Doma thinking? Is it fun to go out and sunbathe first thing in the morning?"

Saying this, Muzan slammed his fist on the table, and the table instantly shattered into pieces.

Abel had altered Doma's memory to make him suddenly want to sunbathe, so Doma ran out early in the morning to sunbathe and then he got himself killed by the sun. To be precise, when modifying Doma's memory, Abel was too lazy to even bother fabricating a story.

Muzan, who had finished receiving the memory, was now in a bad mood.

After all, no Upper Moon had died in a hundred years.

Today, an Upper Moon position was vacated, and what's more, he killed himself by willingly going out to sunbathe.

It was incredibly absurd.

After calming down for a while, Muzan gave an order.

"Phew... Nakime, summon the other Upper Moons."

"Yes, Muzan-sama."

Time passed little by little, and all the Upper Moons arrived.

Akaza stood alone on one side. For some reason, Akaza felt refreshed and invigorated, and even his mood was incredibly great.
