Annabelle Linton's lips curved into a smile as well, though it looked somewhat unnatural on her usually cold face.
But a rare warmth softened her features.
She smiled faintly and looked at him. "So when are you coming back?"
"Hmm... I still have some things to take care of here. It'll probably be two days. What's wrong, miss me already?" he asked expectantly.
Seeing his eager expression, she deliberately teased, "That... I'll have to think about it. It's really hard to say..."
When his expression fell, she chuckled and said, "Alright, I'm just kidding... I miss you a lot..."
"How much?"
"Very, very much."
"Me too..." Aaron Wyatt pursed his lips into a faint, contented smile. "I miss you so much. I started missing you even before I left."
Annabelle hummed softly, her gaze lowering as the corners of her lips couldn't help but lift again.
