Chapter 166: Mind Ability – Imbuing Aura

Nightfall. The stars were faint, and the moon hung high. Two ships floated silently in the sky. Ahead, surrounded by a giant ring of glowing white light, lay Ark Island.

After two days and one night of travel, Luo Han and his group had finally reached the island's outer perimeter. Fortunately, Sister Shao had once recorded a permanent log pose here, allowing them to locate it quickly.

From above, they could see massive currents swirling around the island like giant serpents, endlessly circling.

Only because they were flying did they avoid being swept up by the perilous ring-shaped currents around Ark Island.

"So it was your power that brought us here by accident back then?" Sister Shao said, gazing down at the waters, recalling the chase with Garp. She finally realized how it all made sense now.

"Yeah. We'd just finished a big battle, and then Garp had to show up and chase us down," Luo Han chuckled. He remembered it too. Frustrated by the endless pursuit, he had used psychokinesis to push their ship forward at high speed—only to inadvertently cross the ring current and stumble upon Ark Island.

"It's beautiful… and look at the aurora!" Aishi and the others gasped. It was their first time witnessing such a sight.

The white sands of the beach glowed faintly, and the mist in the air refracted light into ribbon-like beams resembling auroras. The whole island seemed wrapped in a transparent curtain of shimmering light.

The ships drifted slowly toward the island. As they approached, Luo Han didn't descend yet, which prompted Aishi to ask, "Luo Han , aren't we going to land?"

Tack and the others paused too. They'd been told last time that the shore was dangerous at night, but they hadn't really understood why.

Luo Han grinned mysteriously and asked, "Are you afraid of snakes? The kind that are everywhere? All colorful and squirming?"

That alone sent a chill down everyone's spine. Just picturing it was horrifying.

Luo Han smirked. So I'm not the only one who hates snakes—especially in bulk.

"Are they big? If not, we could skewer them up for barbecue. With my special cumin seasoning, I bet they'd taste amazing!" Aishi 's eyes lit up with an eager sparkle. She looked like she was already imagining the perfect snake kebabs.

Luo Han and the others went pale. Luo Han especially—his mind had already conjured an image of Aishi forcing him to eat those rainbow-colored snake skewers.

Absolutely not. She must never find out what the shore looks like at night, Luo Han vowed internally.

Luckily, only Cole and Sister Shao knew. And Sister Shao didn't like snakes either—she probably wouldn't say anything. As for Cole, he could be warned.

"They're delicious, you say? Aishi ! There are tons of snakes down there, especially in the forest behind the beach. I'll go catch some for you later!" Cole said excitedly. To a foodie, "massive quantity" and "colorful" were good things.

"..." Luo Han fell silent. He had forgotten what a food maniac Cole was.

Everyone was speechless—except Aishi , who was now happily chatting with Cole about seasonings and cooking methods.

Luo Han winced. The terrifying mental image was now becoming a very real threat.

"Aishi once ended up stranded on a desolate island—nothing but rocks and snakes. That kind of snake. Everywhere," Sister Shao said, walking up beside Luo Han with a quiet sigh. "She's not scared anymore. Even if she used to be, she's not now."

"I didn't know she'd been through something like that," Luo Han murmured. He looked at Aishi and Cole happily planning their snake barbecue and thought, She's tough, alright.

Luo Han couldn't imagine how he would've survived in her place. He'd probably just unleash infinite psychic explosions and obliterate the entire island, then float away like nothing happened.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Luo Han resumed guiding the ships.

Soon, both vessels passed through the aurora veil and landed atop the mountain peak where they had once stopped before. Their old makeshift plaza was still there—though now overgrown with grass.

Since it was late at night, no one prepared a full meal. They snacked on some pastries and quickly went to rest.

Aishi didn't ask Cole to hunt snakes either. Apparently, after learning Luo Han was afraid of that many snakes, she dropped the idea.

...

The next morning, Luo Han called Tack and his five officers to a mountaintop on the other side of the island.

"Captain Tack, did Boss Luo Han say why he wanted us here?" one of the officers asked as they stood on the leveled summit.

"No idea. But if the boss called us, it must be important," Tack replied, rubbing his chin. He glanced at Luo Han , who stood a short distance away with his eyes closed. A feeling of unease stirred within him.

In truth, Luo Han was currently using his extended spiritual awareness to observe the five officers—more precisely, their bodily aura and innate attributes.

After recording their innate physical traits, he began sorting through the results to adjust and prepare his newly enhanced abilities.

During the God Valley battle, when he had neared death, Luo Han 's consciousness had entered his mental world. There, he'd accepted himself as a "normal person," breaking free from his obsession with being the main character. That liberation had unleashed new potential in his psychic powers—boosting all aspects of his abilities.

Beyond being able to record aura traits, he had also awakened a new ability: imbuing aura.

Before, Luo Han could temporarily infuse a wooden stick with the aura of "hardness," giving it the toughness of steel. But it was fleeting.

Now, with his upgraded ability, he could permanently embed such aura traits—hence why the ring he gave Amatsuki would remain durable indefinitely. The only limit was the object's own physical durability. If the material was too weak, the aura would destroy it.

That's why he typically only infused constructs formed from his psychic power. After all, nothing withstood stress better than that.

But the most terrifying potential of this new power? Mass-production of super soldiers.

If his spiritual sense could guide physical evolution—and record aura traits—then this new ability let him grant others the innate aura of beings like Big Mom.

With training, someone given her physical aura could, within one or two years, build a body as durable as hers. Whether their power could match hers depended on willpower and discipline—but physically, they'd be on par. With Armament Haki on top of that? The results could be game-changing.

The only flaw so far: aura traits from inanimate objects (like hardness) couldn't be permanently embedded in living beings. Similarly, biological aura could only be embedded in other biological targets.

After sorting all this out, Luo Han began blending Big Mom's physical aura with the five men's unique traits, ensuring compatibility. That way, once the aura was implanted, they could evolve faster—eventually achieving bodies as durable as steel balloons.
