Chapter 69 - Hell is just big kitchen

[3rd POV]

Hell was a dimension that submitted completely to the whims of the strong. Do think of it as this powerful dimension that held entities of unimaginable power. It was more like a nest or a home carved out by these entities.

It didn't have concrete rules or logic. There was the human dimension, and the rest were just hell. It wasn't even just one place. In the Chainsaw Man universe, everything that wasn't the human dimension was just termed as hell. It could be said that Hell wasn't a dimension but a collection of dimensions.

This dimension was larger than the entirety of the universe itself. A bigger infinity than the infinite universe. It functioned purely as a place where nightmares were given form.

Hell, at least the hell that the Pig Devil was reborn in, was a black space. Not black as in the colour but the literal absence of light. The only thing that existed here was space and time. Nothing else. Direction was dead, gravity was void, and there was no up and down.

It was like an endless corridor. The only thing that existed were multiple doors that would lead to different dimensions. These doors hung in the sky and underground like stars. These doors were not even real, but they weren't fake either. These were gateways to different dimensions of hell.

When compared to the human world, hell was literally empty.

The place where the Pig Devil landed was the shared dimension where the weakest among the weakest of Devils resided. The devils you could find here were Trash Devil, Harmless Devil, Soap Devil, Paper Devil, Stick Devil, Air Devil, Cap Devil, Rice Devil, Slight Discomfort Devil, Lukewarm Devil, Tomato Devil, and so on.

This dimension was like an endless corridor. Since there was no planet or gravity, one could freely move up, down, left, right etc. The concept of distance itself seemed to be shaky.

The most significant powerhouses you would find here were the Lego Devil, Plastic Devil, Chicken Devil, Butterfly Devil, etc. Devils beyond that threshold lay in other dimensions where the doors could lead.

But in this seemingly insignificant place, a major event was taking place. It was experiencing a slaughter. Or a feast, as one might say.

The Pig Devil, completely lost in his own hunger, could be seen going around and groaning over every devil that he could find. The devil at the moment wasn't even capable of thoughts anymore, completely driven by the desire to consume anything.

The Pig Devil's entire body was covered in blood of different colours. The colour on his mouth was the only thing that was red. This was because the Pig Devil frequently ate his own tongue and chewed on his own teeth while feeding.

There was nothing but craze in his eyes. But if one looked closely, one would see the light of odd intelligence, like someone who was letting his instinct take over just because he didn't want to deal with the mundane task of eating millions of weak devils.

There was no sense of day and night in this place. The only way to measure time was every time the Pig Devil reached a threshold of power. Even though every Devil he ate was weak and insignificant, if one ate a thousand, maybe ten thousand, these sources of small power added up.

At one point, the Pig Devil grew strong enough to mould the dimension with his will. He then made distance void, making it so that no weak devils could escape from his starving jaw.

The more he ate, the more he starved.

Consume, consume, consume, that was the God of this dimension.

Greed and gluttony.

An unknown amount of time passed. The hunger soon became unbearable for the Pig Devil. The thousands of weak devils that went down his throat every hour did not satisfy him any longer. At this point, his power had grown too much. It felt like he was eating molecules.

If an outsider were to look at the Pig Devil now, they would be shocked to see such a powerful Devil hanging around in the lowest dimension. He was already strong enough to rival weapon-type devils like the Katana Devil or the Spear Devil. Old tools of war.

The Pig Devil finally took his eyes away from the weak Devils and looked towards the many doors around the dimension. His great snout twitched, picking up the scent of the different dimensions.

The current appearance of the Pig Devil was indescribable. It was hard to measure his exact size, but he had grown with whatever he ate. This was because the bigger he was, the more he could eat with one bite. Every little inch of his body was different, showing the nature of the Devils he ate. If one were to cut him, the skin would peel, but it wasn't really skin.

Beneath the skin wasn't even flesh. You would just see layers upon layers of different devils merged to shape a pig. Somehow, the Pig Devil had become every single one of the Devils he ate, taking the nature, the fear and the power and sealing them. Not sealing them in his body, his body was literally made out of them, perhaps bound by some higher conceptual power.

His colour was also indescribable. His body was coloured in all possible colours. His size, on the other hand, finally had something to compare to, and that was the door he was looking at.

The door was roughly the size of the Pig's skin pore if he had pores.

If the current size of the Pig Devil came to the human world and were put in Japan, it would crush Tokyo city completely with its surface area alone. He was 60 kilometres tall at his highest when standing on all fours, and he was 150 kilometres long from tail to snout. His gigantic form, when looking from afar, was lean and looked like an animal that was starving and had nothing to eat for months.

At this point, the dimension had changed to hold him, which was why the distance between each door had separated.

The Pig Devil nudged at the door, and it opened.

The door, tiny in comparison to his size, sucked him in. The speed was almost instantaneous, and the Pig Devil entered a new dimension in Hell.

Immediately, since he no longer had control over the dimension, his size began to shrink. He shrank to the limit and only stopped when the size of the door, which was only the size of his pore, became the size of his nostril.

"Nghoook... Nghoorgk..." the Pig Devil released a pig-like sound. A sound which spread through the dimension like kindness. After all, it wasn't often that anything received a warning before being completely erased.

Unlike the empty void of the lower dimension, the new dimension had form and ground that existed here.

The earth was wet and warm like exposed flesh. The sky was dark green and covered in moving scales that shifted endlessly like snakes shedding skin over and over again. One could see the same myriad of doors on that weird sky.

The Pig Devil twitched his snout, taking in the smell of life and food. The scent came from the dimension itself and not any direction.

That means....

The Pig Devil bent his head and bit at the ground before tearing off a huge chunk. The whole dimension quivered, and beneath the layer he just tore open came out many flesh-like tentacles that writhed and wiggled in agony like they had lives of their own.

Immediately, countless eyes opened from the ground. The eyes existed in the close vicinity until the end of the horizon. The whole dimension had eyes.

Then the hiss of a snake reverberated throughout the entire place.

The Snake Devil, he remembered the scent. Maybe this was why he chose the door, because of the familiar scent of the Devil he had killed before.

The sound stretched across the entire dimension.

And the Snake Devil wasn't alone in this dimension either. There were plenty of other reptile-like devils which could be assumed to be the Snake Devil's subordinates.

A white snake appeared in the sky, its size mind-blowingly massive. It made the current size of the Pig Devil look small.

The Snake Devil coiled around in the sky before lunging forward.

The other reptiles living in this place immediately reacted too. Creatures resembling snakes, lizards and centipedes emerged from beneath the fleshy ground. Some had human faces. Some had multiple jaws. Others were simply masses of scales crawling over each other.

They rushed at the Pig Devil who only opened his mouth as wide as possible, like someone who opened his mouth and waited for food to be thrown there.

The Devils slammed into him.

And chaos of unimaginable proportion ensued. If one were to describe it, they wouldn't be able to. They would just look on, wondering what the fuck was going on. It was beyond words.

After another unknown amount of time had passed, the whole dimension trembled, and the Pig Devil remained the only life there.

Much like the previous space, the new dimension turned into a void. The Pig Devil chose another door and went in. The moment he left, this particular hell dimension collapsed with no will to shape it.

And the Pig Devil went for another feast.
