Chapter 467: The Premier Tiger of Asia
Gange's strategy had been simple: sacrifice his secondary team to bleed
Gyarados's stamina. He hoped to give his Master-tier Incineroar even a slight
numerical advantage. He wasn't even asking for his Pokémon to deal damage—he
just wanted them to make the serpent work for the win.
Unfortunately, Gange's plan was a pipe dream.
Gyarados wasn't just winning; it was regenerating. Equipped with the Radiant
Bloodthirster, the minimal effort it took to slap the clones aside was actually
healing what little fatigue the serpent had. After three matches, the "Sea
Sovereign" was in peak condition.
The ten-minute intermission passed. Gange returned to his platform, his face a
mask of desperate focus.
For his fourth Pokémon, Gange sent out his "Consort," Salazzle. She fared no
better than the others. Before she could even hiss a toxic taunt, a massive blue
tail slammed into her, launching her into the barrier. 4-0.
Then came the fifth. Gange took a deep breath. This was the real beginning of
the match.
"Go! Ninetales!"
Gange finally revealed his weather-setter.
"Gyarados! Dragon Dance!"
The moment Ninetales materialized, the sunlight in the arena intensified,
becoming a scorching, white-hot glare. The temperature in the stadium spiked.
Instead of ending the match immediately, Gyarados took the opening. It coiled
its body, performing a rhythmic, soaring dance that caused its muscles to ripple
and its aura to sharpen. Its Attack and Speed stats climbed.
Kenji wasn't being cocky. His Gyarados was Level 97. Against a Level 100
Master-tier opponent, he needed to respect the gap. Even with a typing
advantage, he was going to walk into the final round with every buff he could
stack.
Gange saw the setup and panicked. He knew he couldn't leave Ninetales out to be
a punching bag.
"Ninetales! Agility! Prepare for Baton Pass!"
If Ninetales could cycle its speed buffs onto Incineroar, Gange might actually
have a chance. But Kenji's Gyarados was a veteran of the "Dragon Island"
training grounds. It knew exactly what a setup looked like.
"Gyarados! Shut it down!"
"HOOOOOOOOOR!"
Gyarados let out a roar that physically shook the arena. Its Pressure ability
surged, turning into a visible, crashing wave of blue energy that slammed into
Ninetales.
Under the weight of that soul-crushing aura, the fox's internal energy flow
stuttered. Her Agility failed mid-execution. She stood frozen, her eyes wide
with terror as the blue serpent blurred across the field.
THWACK!
One Aqua Tail. Even under the Sunny Day penalty, the move carried enough kinetic
force to shatter a boulder. Ninetales was launched into the air, unconscious
before she hit the ground.
The score was 5-0.
"GOD ABOVE!" an international commentator screamed. "Is Kenji going for a
second 1v6 sweep?! On a Grand Champion?!"
"It shouldn't be possible," another replied, his voice shaking. "Gange is a
Champion! But that Gyarados is playing a completely different game."
In the stands, the Bharat fans were in a state of meltdown, screaming about
"Fixed Matches" and "System Glitches." Meanwhile, the Neon and Huaxia sections
were in a frenzy—the Huaxians out of pride, and the Neons out of relief that
someone else was finally sharing their humiliation.
Gange's face was now a dark, bruised purple. He slowly reached for his final
Poké Ball.
"Go! Incineroar!"
"HU-HE!"
A massive, bipedal tiger erupted from the light. It stood with broad shoulders
and a narrow waist, its belt of living fire roaring with intensity.
[Pokémon Status]
Name: Incineroar (The Premier Tiger of Asia) Gender: Female Level: 100 Type:
Fire / Dark Ability: Intimidate Potential: S
This was the famous "No. 1 Tiger of Asia." The nickname was a point of pride in
the Bharat League, and looking at its Level 100 aura, it wasn't just hype. The
Pokémon radiated a "Master-tier Divinity" that made the air feel thick and
heavy.
"HOU…"
Gyarados met the tiger's gaze. Its pupils shrank, its own aura beginning to
condense into a churning, oceanic tide.
The two Pokémon didn't move. They simply stared. In the eyes of the spectators,
they were stationary. But to Kenji and Gange, the battle had already begun. The
"Aura Clash" was invisible but lethal.
Suddenly, Gyarados let out a roar that sounded like a dam breaking. Its aura
surged forward, a tidal wave of sheer will that finally forced Incineroar to
take a half-step back.
Gange's heart sank. His ace had lost the first trade of spirits.
Kenji smiled. His team specialized in Intimidate and mental dominance. Gyarados
would not be bowed by a mere fire-cat.
"Gyarados! Mega Evolve!"
Kenji had waited for this. He didn't want to lose the Intimidate cycle until
Incineroar had been softened up. Now that the tiger was rattled, it was time for
the final form.
A prismatic pillar of light swallowed the serpent.
"SHHHH-RING!"
Mega Gyarados emerged, its form becoming more compact, more armored, and
infinitely more aggressive. Its typing shifted to Water/Dark.
"Incineroar! Fake Out!"
"HU-HA!"
The tiger blurred, disappearing in a burst of Extreme Speed. It appeared
instantly at Mega Gyarados's flank, its palm cocked back for a stunning slap.
But Mega Gyarados didn't wait to be hit. The high-pressure ejection ports along
its sides erupted, venting twin streams of water that acted like rocket
thrusters. The serpent jinked to the side, the Fake Out missing by an inch.
"Flamethrower!" Gange shouted.
Incineroar's fire-belt erupted, unleashing a massive pillar of orange flame.
Mega Gyarados unhinged its jaws and answered with a torrential Hydro Pump.
BOOM!
The two elements collided in the center of the arena. The reaction was violent.
A massive wall of superheated steam billowed outward, instantly swallowing both
combatants in a thick, white fog.
The cameras struggled to see, but the Pokémon didn't need eyes. They tracked
each other through the vibrations in the humid air.
THOOM! BANG!
The sound of physical impact echoed through the mist. Incineroar was a natural
brawler, utilizing Cross Chop and Darkest Lariat with terrifying efficiency.
Mega Gyarados answered with the raw, crushing power of Aqua Tail.
They traded blows, the explosions of energy shredding the steam-screen. As the
mist finally cleared, the world saw the two titans locked in a grapple.
Incineroar had caught the serpent's tail with one hand, its other hand glowing
with a sharp, white light.
Brick Break!
The tiger brought its hand down in a chopping motion, seeking to split the
serpent's guard.
CRACK—
The strike didn't hit the serpent. It hit a concentrated wall of water Gyarados
had manifested as a shield. The Water-type energy was sheared in half, but the
lag gave Mega Gyarados the opening it needed.
The battle of the Champions had reached its endgame.
