Metropolis.
Eric looked at the list of superheroes who hadn't sided with him, which he had snatched from Batman, and his brows furrowed.
The list was incomplete; a portion of it had already been damaged by Batman when he seized it.
Although only a small part was damaged, the list was still missing some information.
After reviewing the list, Eric handed it to his secretary.
His secretary was Hanna, a girl from the former fan club.
She was a Chinese-American girl and one of Eric's most loyal supporters.
The girls from the fan club, including Betty, who called herself the 'Modern Agatha Christie Detective Queen,' had all become part of Eric's organized government team.
Of course, these girls also knew Eric's true identity.
Eric wasn't afraid that these girls would betray him; he had enough countermeasures.
"Give this to Rika and have her bring people to control these individuals," Eric casually told Hanna.
Wearing black-rimmed glasses, she had matured significantly and nodded.
As she took the document, she wanted to say a few words to Eric, but seeing him turn away, she lowered her head in frustration.
She had originally thought about inviting him to a musical, for which she had asked friends to help her buy tickets.
She held the tickets in her hand but didn't know how to invite him.
Since working as Eric's secretary for some time, she was no longer the naive girl from Metropolis University.
Besides strengthening her resolve to pursue Eric, her understanding of the world had deepened considerably.
Seeing that Eric hadn't smiled since declaring war on the world, and often accompanying him, she felt a pang of heartache, so she thought of inviting Eric to a concert to relax.
"Is there anything else?"
She was standing there lost in thought when she heard Eric's voice, paused, and quickly replied, "No, nothing."
"Oh, right, where's Betty? Why haven't I seen her recently?"
Eric remembered Betty, who was sometimes eccentric and served as his spokesperson.
"She—" Hanna thought for a moment and said, "She's been organizing some documents recently. I haven't seen her either."
"Is that so?" Eric nodded.
After spending some time in the office in the morning, Eric went to the hospital where his mother was resting in the afternoon.
Pushing open the door and entering Martha's room, he saw that besides Martha, there were two uninvited guests in the room—Louise and Chloe.
The two women were also surprised to see Eric enter and froze in place.
"Eric!" Louise was the first to react and greeted Eric.
Chloe, prompted by her cousin, also said to Eric, "Eric, long time no see."
Her feelings for Eric were somewhat complex.
Emotionally, Lana's death made her deeply understand Eric's anger and desire for revenge, but she couldn't accept Eric's form of revenge.
This act of imposing the wrongdoings of some schemers and politicians onto the people of the entire nation, having received years of "democracy and freedom" education, she could never fully support such an action.
But due to their long-standing bond, she couldn't stand up and accuse Eric, so she mostly avoided seeing him.
Because she couldn't even know her true feelings.
Eric nodded to the two women, then turned his gaze to his mother.
"Mom, are you feeling better?"
"I'm fine now."
Martha smiled faintly at Eric, "I've already told the doctor I'm fine, but he still wants me to stay for two more days for observation."
"That's how it is," Eric said to his mother, "You can recuperate in the hospital for two days, consider it a short vacation for yourself."
