"A vacation?" Martha lay on the bed and smiled bitterly at Eric, "Originally, I thought that becoming a senator would keep me busy, but I didn't expect so many things to happen during this time. Martha got out of bed, walked over, and took Eric's hands, "I know your pain, Eric, but this isn't our way of solving things; it's the beginning of a slide into the abyss. You should protect humanity, not in this way, Eric."
Looking at his mother's slightly reddened eyes, Eric fell silent.
After a while, he said to his mother, "This is also a way of protecting, Mom."

"Of course!" Louise nodded.
Chloe, beside her, let out a long sigh of relief. Seeing that the two didn't get into a conflict, the weight in her heart finally lifted.
She knew that her cousin was quite displeased with Eric's actions over the past few months.
