~Annalyn POV~
I was aware of everything.
That was the part nobody outside of this body could understand. Being occupied by the entity did not mean absence. It did not mean sleep or darkness or a blank space where I used to be. It meant watching from a position that had no controls, fully conscious, completely aware of every decision the entity made in my name, and completely unable to stop any of it.
The six Black Wolves found us in the lower field at midmorning.
I watched the entity assess them the way it assessed everything, as obstacles or non-obstacles, sorted in under two seconds. These registered as obstacles. What followed was not something I will describe in detail because I was present for it and presence was already enough.
What I will say is that the fifth wolf went down, and the sixth was still standing, and the entity moved toward it with the same direction it had moved toward every other target since taking the front position.
