Chapter 52 - Chapter 52 – Detective Reaper, the Most Hated of Them All

The 18th competition was about to begin.

God announced,

"Now that the Star Monster has entered the arena, it's time for the detective everyone hates... Detective Reaper, the man who wandered the streets killing innocent children while lying to his superiors, claiming he was going to work. All of this happened during the 16th century. Enter... Detective Day!"

As Detective Day stepped into the arena, the entire audience trembled with fear. Everyone was horrified by the sight of the detective who had murdered innocent children.

Day walked confidently into the arena and said,

"Well then, Monster... today, luck won't be on your side. Heh, heh."

The Star Monster laughed.

"Ha, ha! How ridiculous. You're the one who won't have any luck, insolent detective."

Day replied,

"We'll see about that. I've never lost a battle in my life."

The Star Monster answered,

"Neither have I."

God then raised his hand.

"Alright, alright. The 18th competition will now begin! This is a battle between a scythe and an axe. Whoever cuts down their opponent first will be the winner. Let the match begin!"

Detective Day charged forward, swinging his scythe in an attempt to behead the Star Monster.

However, the Star Monster easily dodged the attack.

"You're skilled with a blade," he said, "but now witness the power of my axe... Star Muybeeeee!"

Star Muybeeeee was an axe technique capable of slicing through an opponent's body with incredible ease.

Even so, Detective Day effortlessly dodged every slash.

The Star Monster rushed in once more.

"Then witness this... Stars Noki Liiiiiiiiii!"

Stars Noki Liiiiiiiiii was an invisible attack. Its victims couldn't detect it until it suddenly cut them apart without warning.

Detective Day couldn't sense the attack. He blindly swung his scythe, hoping to strike his opponent.

Instead, the invisible technique collided with his scythe.

The Star Monster smiled.

"What a shame, Detective. Just surrender. You don't have a chance anymore."

Detective Day grinned.

"Relax. You haven't seen anything yet. Now witness this... my Twenty Star-Destroying Scythes!"

The Leader of the Monsters shouted in disbelief.

"What?! God, I gave those scythes to you so you could keep them locked inside the Sacred Chest! And you handed them over to him?"

God shrugged.

"Well, Leader... I have to do something to help the Detectives win."

The Leader of the Monsters sighed.

"I can't believe we're going to lose again..."

With all twenty scythes in his possession, Detective Day charged at the Star Monster and nearly severed one of his arms.

Day smiled confidently.

"Now... with these scythes, I can finally defeat you."

The Star Monster laughed.

"Oh? But I don't think you expected this..."

"I also possess the Axe That Easily Destroys Detectives."

Detective Day tightened his grip on his scythes.

"Then let's find out... which one of us destroys the other first! Ha, ha!"

To be continued...
