Jordan came to my room and told me that grandmother was calling me. I went to her room and
found her sitting on her bed. She adjusted her sitting position and told me to sit next to her.
'Ever since I was poisoned, you didn't even visit me once, why?'
How could she ask that after everything? I really love grandma but I loved Mahira too. Family
sticks together that's why I stood by my family's side but I didn't believe Mahira could do
something like that.
'I didn't want to see you. Do you have a problem?'
'You are angry right. I understand your anger but I don't understand your stupidity.'
I'm not stupid. What right did she have to call me stupid. I'm not stupid, sure I made a mistake
but I'm not stupid. What is stupid is me betraying Mahira.
'I'm not stupid!' I shouted
'Physcho, stop screaming, I'm old but that doesn't mean I'm hard of hearing, I can hear. Why did
you believe everyone else over Mahira?'
'I love Fairy but I won't tolerate her trying to kill my loved ones. I can't believe she stooped so
low and tried to poison you.'
'Do you have any proof that your Mahira Fairy is the one that tried to poison me?'
'I don't have proof but it's obvious she is the one who prepared the dessert that was supposed
to kill you. I don't know what her motive was but I do know that she tried to poison you.'
The words sounded bitter on my tongue. Bile rose burning my throat and I wanted to puke the
bitter burning taste off.
'You are even more stupid than I could have imagined. I could see how madly in love that girl is.
She really does love Thane. Mahira is a harmless soul. I don't approve of Thane's marriage to
Ariana because Ariana only wants this family's wealth. I trust Mahira but now that she's in jail,
who will protect you and this family from Ariana hmm?'
'What do you mean grandmother?'
'it's obvious. Ariana told us she was going to the bathroom but she lied, she went to the kitchen.
It doesn't take time to add poison to food.I saw Mahira leaving the kitchen. I think she needed something for her dish. Now think carefully. When Mahira went to the kitchen she didn't even
have poison, let alone her handbag . She didn't even know that I would invite her for dinner.
Ariana was there and had a chance to poison my food. She even served me.'
Grandmother had a point. This means that Mahira is innocent. She didn't do anything and yet
she's in prison right now. If I had believed her and pleaded with my brother to forgive her, would
it have made a difference?
'I made such a huge mistake. We can't even prove that Fairy is innocent because all the
evidence is pointing at her.'
'I'm very disappointed in you. You spent more time with Mahira and you know how she is but
you let one incident ruin your relationship with her. I don't know much about Mahira but I know
she loves you more than life itself.'
'Grandma, I made such a huge mistake. Please help me. I want to contact Kaashvi. Kaashvi is
Mahira's best friend, I'm sure she can help.'
With the help of grandma, I called Kaashvi and told her about Mahira's arrest.
Kaashvi assured Elena that she would prove Mahira's innocence. The next morning she books
a flight to America.
