Alysa said, "You seem quite fond of your days in the past."
Licht said, "I was."
Alysa said, "One more thing. Why are you talking about her in past tense?"
Licht said, "Good question. The truth is, I slept through all my language classes, so you know."
Alysa said, "Wait, so are they still together?"
Licht said, "How am I supposed to know? This is the first time I'm meeting Liebe after my 5-month nap vacation."
Alysa just gives up.
Licht said, "Well, I'm tired. Good night. I think I'm going to sleep on the floor."
Alysa said, "But why the floor?"
Licht said, "If Liebe brought girls here, I'm not even sure if drowning myself in the pool would be enough. The floor is the closest place to normal as it gets."
As Liebe teleports in:
Liebe said, "Yo."
Licht said, "So, Liebe, what are you doing?"
Licht said, "Sleeping on the floor after what you did."
Liebe said, "Yeah, that. By the way, an old-time friend of mine is coming to visit."
Licht said, "Who?"
Liebe said, "Jade."
Licht said, "Jade? Jace? I feel like I have heard of him from somewhere."
Liebe said, "Yup."
As there is a knock, Liebe opens the door. It's Jade.
Licht said, "Yo."
Jade said, "Greetings. It's a pleasure, Liebe."
Liebe said, "It is a pleasure as well."
Jade said, "And greetings to you, Licht Vaude."
Licht said, "Yo."
Jade said, "And you must be Miss Alysa Bouduin." As he kisses her hand, he says, "You are indeed more beautiful than they say. Of course, I was at the engagement party, but seeing you up close, you really are beauty that can't be described."
Alysa, blushing, just signs: *Thank you.*
Eosian said, "Wow, what a charmer."
Jade said, "Oh me? I'm not much. You should see Mr. Liebe here when he lets loose. He truly knows how to make the women blush at his every word. I'm simply a humble student learning from the master."
As everyone looked at Liebe and thought, *Sooooo, that's how he sleeps around so much.*
Jade said, "Oh, you must be Mr. Eosian Bouduin. Even though we didn't get the chance to meet during the engagement party, it does certainly appear you are quite energetic. And from what Liebe described, you really are just what he said—'Knowledge has always been chasing you, yet you were always so much further ahead.' It appears Liebe here was able to save you without any wounds."
Eosian said, "Without any physical ones, anyways."
Jade said, "It appears Liebe here hasn't changed one bit."
Liebe said, "Glad you know."
Jade said, "I hate to be a bother. I simply came because we didn't have the opportunity to catch up during the engagement party, and Liebe simply insisted I join him for a nice cold drink."
Alysa signed: *Oh, OK.*
As they sat down with a beer:
Jade said, "Now, what are your plans, Liebe? I'm quite intrigued, seeing how silent your team has been on the international market. And seeing how you haven't been on the news lately after the Grand Hero thing was truly disappointing. Liebe Faust without news is simply ice cream served warm."
Liebe said, "We are planning for a battle. We are going after Azure."
Jade said, "Is that so? It appears we are neck and neck in this conquista."
Liebe said, "It would appear so. Don't disappoint me, Jade."
Jade said, "I will try. But seeing the recent incidents, I must ask: what do you prefer—Traitor of Humanity, the Vilest Being Alive, or Conquista?"
Liebe said, "Any is good."
Jade said, "Alright. But why are you so insistent on staying in Eldoria? Because from what I know about Mr. Warner, wouldn't it be better to live there as a god than an elite warrior of Eldoria?"
Liebe said, "The offer was tempting, but Eldoria possesses a certain piece of history—a history I intend to preserve."
Jade said, "Alright then. You truly are a perplexing man, Liebe Faust. And even as of right now, if we clashed, I doubt I can beat you. But I don't intend to lose."
Liebe said, "Same here."
As Alysa whispered, "Mr. Licht, what is 'conquista'?"
Licht said, "One of Liebe's many, many titles."
Liebe said, "Let's see who can become a Prince of Hell first."
Jade said, "It's a deal."
As Jade was leaving in the lobby:
Jade said, "Hey, Liebe, you truly are a lucky bastard."
Liebe said, "And why might that be?"
Jade said, "Because you have her on your side."
Liebe said, "Nope. She isn't part of the team—just someone I saved that day."
Jade said, "Still the same as ever. I'm glad to see you are doing OK."
