To be read after "06 Splitting Images 3"
When Wes heard that Dash Baxter was going to beat up Danny Fenton, he had to be there. What if Danny did something supernatural to defend himself? He doubted that would happen but was curious anyway.
Something supernatural did happen at the fight, but it wasn't Danny.
The fight started off normal with a little banter and Dash punching Danny. That's when the ghost showed up.
It wasn't the same ghost that Danny turned into. This was a different ghost. He was colored as though from an old movie—as in he had no color. He wore plaid pants and a button-up shirt with a black bow-tie and glasses. His hair was slicked to the side, and he had bucked teeth. Wes guessed this ghost was from the '50s.
The ghost materialized between Danny and Dash. "Stop! There will be no bullying on my watch! This school is now a no-bully zone!"
The crowd was silent. Even Wes had a hard time believing what he was seeing. He didn't expect a ghost to just appear out of nowhere to stop the fight.
"Did you hear me?" the ghost asked. "No. Bullies."
"A-are you a ghost?" Dash asked.
The ghost rolled his eyes. "Yes. And you're a bully."
Wes finally got his wits about him. "Ghost!"
His shout created chaos, much to his dismay. Students screamed and ran toward the school. Everyone pushed to get to the school first, and Wes was swept up with the crowd. He wanted to stay behind and see what Danny would do with the ghost, but couldn't. He looked around while being shoved about. Danny ran along with everyone else. That was weird. Why would Danny run from a ghost? He was a ghost! Or at least, halfway a ghost.
An adult wearing an orange jumpsuit made his way outside while students—Wes included—ran inside.
"Where's the ghost?" the man shouted.
Wes tried to get away to tell him, but he couldn't escape.
"Danno!" the man said after seeing Danny in the crowd. "Get inside where it's safe!"
So that man knew Danny? What did he know? And why was he after the ghost? More of the mystery to unravel. If only Wes could get away from the fleeing students!
The crowd flowed to the end of the hall and finally dispersed, with students taking different directions to get away. Wes turned around to look for Danny… but the hallway was deserted. No! Where did Danny go?
Wes ran to the window in search of the ghost. The man in the orange jumpsuit was still there, but the ghost was long gone. How could Wes miss all the good stuff?
In disappointment, he sulked home. He would have to catch Danny doing something supernatural another day.
