To be read after "06 Splitting Images 3"
Jacob had to stay late after school one day to retake a math quiz he missed. When he was done, he went out into the hallway, expecting it to be empty. Instead, two students watched two ghosts fly into a locker. One of the ghosts was the black-and-white-wearing hero Jacob had seen and heard about. The other was a grayscale mystery.
"Whoa, did you see that?" Jacob asked, rushing forward.
The two students looked at him with startled expressions. Of course they were startled. They just saw ghosts, like he did!
"Uh, n-no, didn't see—see what?" the boy said.
The girl elbowed him. "Don't you know the school is haunted?"
"The school is haunted?" Jacob repeated. "That… actually explains a lot. We don't have to be worried, do we?"
"Nah," the boy said.
"Only if you're a bully," the girl said.
"What do you mean?" Jacob asked.
The girl leaned in conspiratorially. "I heard the ghosts talking about getting revenge on bullies."
"Really?" Jacob asked. "That's awesome! Does that mean I won't get bullied anymore?"
The girl shrugged. "That's just what I heard."
"Wow," Jacob said. "That'll be awesome…" He walked away imagining the possibilities.
When he got home, he drew the ghosts fighting the bullies of his school. He made another comic to send to his cousin Chelsea containing all the weird stuff that had happened over the past few weeks.
