Shelter for a night chapter 98
Krowun kept looking around as many places as possible just eagerly looking for somewhere just anywhere that he could call his own shelter.
No matter where he looked it was too damp or too dark or not enough coverage from the monsters that lived in the trees even if he hid in the trees there was multiple monster animals waiting for him.
On the ground he hadnt even been told about the beast the beast on the ground yet at all.
He knew he had to just find somwehre that seemed like a good spot for the night while Luna at the same time helped him pick a spot too.
"Hey look over there krow isnt that great!" Said Luna with genuine happiness in her voice.
It was at this point of krow starting to give up all hope for the night thinking he would have to fend off against the monsters that lay in this forest when he saw it.
It was a crepid small cave that seemed only about ten feet tall and only ten feet in all diameter.
Slowly krow got closer to it to only take a bigger look at the cave and the glory inside of it.
It was clear that this ws a cave used before by the ashes of the sticks and stones that were on the ground to create or start a fire.
He could also tell it was used before by the paintings on the wall at this point he was just feet away from it.
He slowly got closer and closer to it only for him to realize it wasnt just drsawings of random people it was drawings of elves and the people that had actually escaped this forest before.
While all the writing for it was scirbbled out krow could make out some words.
"This. Place. Is. Barely. Safe." Said krow as he tried to read to the best of his abilities the wrtiting on the wall.
"So you can understand it then the words i mean?" Said Luna.
"Yeah of course i can understand the words why wouldnt i be able too?" Said krow asking intriguely now.
"Well those must be human letters then cause i cant read what that says so there mustve been humans before who had gotten lost in this forest it wasnt just us then krow."Said Luna
This provided krow some form of reassurance to know he wasnt the only human who had gotten trapped here.
With nothing else in the cave and barely any daylight left krow knew his next plan of poortunity.
Create a fire and find wood to cover up the entrance of the cave.
These were the only two goals on krows mind right now and he needed to do both of them by tonight.
With daylight leaving more and more he hopped out of the cave and frantically began to search the area for whatever dry logs or wood he could find.
I mean for Gods sake he was in a rainforest pretty much there was wood everywhere there had to be dry wood too!
Krow was right about that infact he picked up several pieces of broken off branches or several old moldy logs. Knowing he would use these for the fire.
So he headed back to the cave to get ready to create the fire and thats when he noticed in his pocket the only food source he had a packet of beef jerky.
So as the moon was setting and the stars actually began to fill up the night sky krow sat there with his beef jerky in his hand and a fire going.
Hearing the crackling noises from the fire combined with the beautiful gaze of the moonlight and the sounds of the fprest from the snakes to the squirrels to the crickets.
It gave krow a chance to just relax and sit by the fire he had made all his worries about the human realm vanished even if it was albeit only a second.
Several hours passed as it was nearly the time of dawn as the sun was almost about to rise.
It was at this moment of his tranquility that it still could be taken away.
Though even with him covering the front of the cave or atleats trying to it wast good enough as something began to knock.
It started knocking again. And again.
*knock*
*knock*
*knock*
Though by the fourth time krow was already prepared to take it on thought it wouldnt knock anymore.
As it busted through the wood!
It was a jaguar one of the ones from the trees with its venomous fangs and its bright green venom pewing out.
Krow watched as it licked its lips and looked at him like he was a tasty snack.
This mustve been because of the smell of the fire combined with the beef jerky in the air it attracted the creature right to him.
Though before he could even try and gain more of his composure it attacked leaping its body towards him.
With it he barely dodged kicking it straight first in the jaw.
It punced back and whined a little bit but with an even fiercer look in its eyes krow knew it was far from over.
It used the small cave to its advantage as it rode up the wall to then go after his face.
Krow ducked and grabbed one of the logs from the fire with fire still on the stick and began to wave it at the jaguar as it had passed him leaping over him entirely.
Now in the corner of the cave with the fire put on it the jaguar backed up completely not sure of what to do.
Till it did it again it tried to pounce on krow and this time it worked it was on top of him.
Krow could feel its hot pugent rancid breath all ove rhis face as he saw the closest up point of the jaguar and how it looked like he knew this was no creature from his continent.
With the huge bright green eyes and teeth as big as a saber tooth tiger the venom leaking from its fangs as it implanted its claws into krows shoulders as it was on top of him.
Just then at that moment
*Zip!*
Suddenly the jaguar bounced up and before giving it a chance to do anything and land back down krow kicked his feet jup in the air and pushed it into the fire.
Commpletely causin the jaguar to take fire and its body to be set ablaze.
With hearing the final screeching from the jaguar krow knew its life would soon end before him.
As all krow could do was watch as it whinced in pain and blood screaming howls were heard from the fire as its flesh began to melt and rot away.
Though not before krow grabbed a very sharp log and took out a chunk of meat from the jaguars leg and began to chow down on every bit of it.
The crispyness combined with the odor made the taste subpar though that didnt matter as nutreients and staying alive mayttered way more to krow.
Knowing that he couldve been the one being eaten instead.
This was the pain krow was inevatibly nearly about to experience if not for whatever that the fairy did.
They both just lookedd at eachother and didnt say a thing as they both knew the best course of action was to just leave the cave .
As the sun was now rising in the west with the sun rising in a different direction inevery continent krow had noticed this.
"So whats next huh?" Said krow asking the fairy floating all around his hair.
"Well fist you need a shwoer dont you dumby" Said the fairy jokingly mocking him.
