After driving in the taxi for a while, Peter and the others finally reached their destination. However, unbeknownst to everyone except Peter, there was a surprise waiting for them—a surprise that would leave them both confused and intrigued.
"Huh? Why is Rias here?" Gwen asked, her face scrunched in confusion as she spotted Rias leaning casually against a sleek BMW. Hearing Gwen's question and seeing Rias, Liz and Mary also exchanged puzzled glances, while May, Reiran, Gale, and Madeline stood silently. May, who was blindfolded, could only rely on her hearing, while Madeline and Gale, who had no idea who Rias was, simply waited for Peter or the others to explain the situation.
"Hehe, of course, I was invited specially by Peter~" Rias said with a playful smile as she approached Peter, linking her arm with his in a teasing manner. At that moment, she was unaware that Madeline and Gale were in the dark about Peter's relationships with other women besides Mary, which explained her bold behavior.
Seeing Rias so close to Peter, Madeline and Gale exchanged confused glances.
'Why is she so close to Peter?' Madeline thought, her sharp eyes narrowing as she observed Rias. As a mother-in-law, she couldn't help but feel protective and suspicious of another woman being so intimate with her son-in-law. However, she decided to remain silent for the time being. Gale, on the other hand, was not the one to hold back.
"Hey! Why are you hugging my brother-in-law?" Gale demanded, her tone sharp as she stepped closer to Rias, locking eyes with her.
A sly smile spread across Rias's face as she replied, "Ah, it seems Peter hasn't told you~" She glanced at Peter, who simply smiled back at her, adding to the mystery.
"What?" Madeline interjected, her confusion evident. Gale nodded vigorously, equally eager for an explanation.
"You'll find out soon enough." Peter said cryptically, turning his attention to May, "Now, May, are you ready for the surprise?" He asked, positioning himself behind her.
"Yes! I am!" May replied eagerly, her excitement palpable. Meanwhile, Madeline, Gale, and the others were busy taking in the sight of the massive house that stood before them.
The sheer size and opulence of the house made it clear that it must have cost a fortune. While Liz, Gwen, and Mary were aware of how Peter had acquired the funds to purchase such a property, Madeline and Gale were left wondering how Peter, who was still a student, could afford something so extravagant.
"Okay, here you go." Peter said as he gently removed May's blindfold, allowing her to take in the sight before her.
"Why are we in front of such a luxurious house? Are we here to meet someone? Whose house is this?" May asked, her voice filled with confusion as she turned to Peter for answers.
"It's our new home." Peter revealed, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
"Huh? What did you say?" May asked, convinced she must have misheard him.
"This is your surprise." Peter said, placing his hands on her shoulders and turning her to face the house once more, "May, this house is our new home." He repeated, ensuring there was no room for misunderstanding this time.
"O-Our new home!" May stammered, her eyes wide with shock as she gazed at the luxurious house before her. For a moment, she was completely dazed, unable to believe that such a magnificent house would now be their home.
"So, do you like it?" Peter asked, his hand resting gently on her shoulder.
"Like it? I love it! I love it!" May exclaimed, tears of joy streaming down her face as she threw her arms around Peter in a tight embrace. She had never dared to dream that they would one day live in such a lavish home, and the reality of it was almost overwhelming.
May's emotions were so intense that she momentarily forgot about the presence of Madeline and Gale. She wanted to shower Peter with kisses and express her gratitude in more intimate ways, but she restrained herself, knowing it wasn't the right time. Instead, her attention shifted to the truck parked nearby.
"Wait, what's inside that truck? I remember all our things are still back at our old house." May said, pointing at the truck.
"Ah, that truck contains Mary, Madeline, and Gale's belongings." Peter explained, "May, they're going to be living with us." He revealed, causing May to turn her gaze toward Madeline, Mary, and Gale.
Seeing May's eyes on them, Madeline and Gale grew nervous, while Mary remained calm, knowing that May's attention was focused on her mother and sister rather than herself.
To everyone's surprise, May walked over to Madeline and embraced her warmly.
"Looks like we're going to be living together now, my friend~" May said, her voice filled with genuine warmth as she hugged Madeline.
Hearing May's acceptance and even happiness at the idea of them staying together, Madeline returned the hug, her voice soft with gratitude, "Thank you, May, for accepting us."
"Hey, what are you thanking me for? We're family, and family should stay together." May said, breaking the hug and turning to Gale, "Aren't we, Gale?" She asked, giving Gale a gentle pat on the head.
"Hmm, that's right! We're a family!" Gale replied with an energetic smile, running over to Peter and hugging him tightly, "Thank you, Peter, for accepting my dumb sister~" She added with a cheeky grin.
"Hey! Who are you calling dumb?" Mary retorted, though her tone was lighthearted.
"Hahaha!" The group erupted into laughter, the atmosphere becoming lively and filled with joy.
With the mood lightened, Peter and the others made their way inside the house. As they stepped through the main gate, they were immediately struck by the beauty of the garden and the large pool outside. However, it was the interior of the house that truly left them in awe.
"Wow! This is amazing!" Gale exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the grandeur of the living room, "Look, the sofa is so soft and big!" She said, jumping onto the plush sofa with childlike enthusiasm.
While Gale and the others explored the house, Peter stood with Rias, who seemed unfazed by the opulence around her. After all, her own home—a sprawling villa—was even more extravagant, something that even left Peter himself speechless.
"Okay, everyone, gather around!" Peter called out, his voice commanding attention, "I have something important to tell you all!"
Hearing his words, everyone quickly gathered in the hall. While Liz, Gwen, Mary, Reiran, and May had an idea of what Peter was about to say, Madeline and Gale were completely in the dark, their curiosity piqued. Little did they know, Peter was about to reveal several things that would leave them all stunned.
