Chapter 15 - A Drink for Fina

Morning sunlight filtered softly through the café windows.

The air smelled faintly of butter, fresh bread…

…and complete disaster.

"Why is it pink?"

Lina stared suspiciously into a steaming cup while standing beside the counter.

Ren frowned.

"It's berry milk."

"It looks magical."

"That's because berries have color."

"Suspicious color."

Ren sighed deeply.

Ever since the system gave him Fina's customer request last night, he had spent the entire morning experimenting with sweet drinks.

Unfortunately—

Lina volunteered as taste tester.

Which meant absolutely nothing productive had happened for the last hour.

"The first one was too sweet," Ren muttered while writing notes.

"The second one tasted healthy."

"That's a terrible thing for desserts."

"The third one nearly killed me emotionally."

"It was cinnamon."

"It was aggressive cinnamon."

Meanwhile, Fina sat quietly near the counter watching the experiments with wide curious eyes.

Unlike Lina's dramatic commentary—

Fina simply looked excited.

And honestly, that alone motivated Ren to keep trying.

Moonbean Café itself remained peaceful this morning.

Most customers had not arrived yet.

Only Serena sat near the window reviewing guild documents while drinking coffee.

Occasionally, she glanced toward the kitchen area with visible concern.

"…Should I prepare healing magic?" she asked calmly.

Lina pointed immediately.

"See? Even Serena senses danger."

"She senses you."

"Rude."

Ren ignored them while checking ingredients inside the system inventory.

Milk.

Honey.

Berries.

Cream.

Sugar.

Then suddenly—

An idea formed.

"…Wait."

Lina immediately backed away.

"That tone means experimentation."

"Because I'm experimenting."

"That's exactly why I'm afraid."

Ren began moving quickly around the kitchen.

Warm milk.

Berry syrup.

A little honey.

Then—

Whipped cream.

Lina gasped dramatically.

"It evolved."

"Please stop narrating food like a monster encounter."

Fina quietly giggled.

That tiny laugh alone made the entire morning worth it.

A few minutes later, Ren carefully placed a finished drink onto the counter.

Warm pink berry milk topped with soft cream and tiny berry pieces.

Steam curled gently upward.

The sweet fruity smell immediately filled the café.

Even Serena lowered her paperwork slightly.

"…That actually smells wonderful."

Lina narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

"It's too cute."

"That's not criticism."

"It absolutely is."

Ren ignored her and crouched slightly beside Fina's seat.

"This one's for you."

Fina blinked.

"…For me?"

"You requested a sweet drink."

The little girl looked completely startled.

Then slowly—

Very carefully—

She accepted the cup with both hands.

Warmth immediately spread across her face.

She looked nervous.

Excited.

Almost afraid to try it.

Lina leaned across the counter dramatically.

"This is a historic moment."

"You're making hot milk sound legendary."

"It IS legendary."

Fina finally took a small sip.

Silence filled the café.

Ren waited quietly.

Then—

Her eyes widened.

"…Sweet."

A tiny smile appeared immediately afterward.

Then another sip.

And another.

The little girl's entire expression softened with every drink.

"It's warm," she whispered softly.

"And fluffy."

"Fluffy?" Ren repeated.

Fina pointed toward the cream.

"Oh."

That explanation somehow made perfect sense.

Lina immediately grabbed Ren's sleeve.

"I demand fluffy drinks too."

"You're an adult."

"Fluffy has no age limit."

"…Fair point."

Even Serena eventually approached the counter curiously.

"I would also like to evaluate this beverage."

Lina pointed accusingly.

"See? She wants fluffy too."

"I'm conducting quality assessment."

"That's what addicts say."

Serena ignored her entirely.

Soon, several cups of warm berry milk lined the counter.

And surprisingly—

Everyone loved them.

Mira nearly cried after tasting one.

"This tastes like happiness."

"That sentence concerns me," Kael muttered.

Gareth stared at his cup suspiciously.

"…Why is it pink?"

"Because berries exist," Ren answered immediately.

The warrior drank it anyway.

Then froze.

"…Dangerous."

"There it is," Lina whispered proudly.

The café soon filled with warm laughter again.

Customers reacted to the new drink exactly the same way they reacted to coffee:

Confusion.

Curiosity.

Immediate emotional attachment.

Ren quietly leaned against the counter while watching everyone.

This felt different from his old life.

Back on Earth, creating new menu items usually meant stress.

Sales targets.

Customer complaints.

Corporate pressure.

But here?

It simply felt fun.

Creative.

Meaningful.

People genuinely became happier from the things he made.

Then suddenly—

[Ding.]

Moonbean Café Warmth Increased

At that exact moment—

The atmosphere inside the café softened noticeably.

Subtle.

Gentle.

But unmistakable.

The fireplace crackled more warmly.

The air felt cozier.

Even customers visibly relaxed.

"…Did it just get warmer?" Mira asked quietly.

Lina immediately pointed at Ren.

"Magic café owner."

"That accusation gets stronger every day."

"You literally produce furniture from light sometimes."

"…Decorative magic."

"No one believes that anymore."

Ren coughed awkwardly and quickly looked away.

Meanwhile, Fina quietly approached the counter holding her empty cup carefully.

"…Can I help wash these?"

"You don't have to."

"I want to."

Ren paused.

Then smiled softly.

"…Alright."

The little girl immediately brightened.

And somehow—

That tiny reaction warmed the café more than any system effect ever could.

Outside, sunlight illuminated the quiet street peacefully.

Inside Moonbean Café—

Warm drinks, sweet smells, and soft laughter drifted gently through the air.

And little by little—

The café truly became a home for everyone inside it.
