I woke up to a small hand tapping my belly quite hard. I groaned and rolled onto the other side, but I received a sweeter kind of wake-up call instead—kisses.
My eyes fluttered open wide, and I stared at Claude in horror. Before I could yell at him, though, Mory had already shot that dreadful question.
"Big brother, why are you kissing my brother?"
Mory's shrill voice, tinged with shock and curiosity, rang in my ears. A kick landed on my thigh. I guessed it was supposed to be Mory trying to climb on top of me. I squeezed my eyes shut again, my temple throbbing.
"It's a sure way to wake up someone from sleeping," Claude answered softly.
"Really?"
I could feel the kid sitting upright next to me.
"Then, me too! I'll kiss brother, too, so he'll wake up fast!"
Someone was excited. Heh. Before I knew it, my face was rained with small kisses. I couldn't even open my eyes because of them.
