Tall, well-dressed, and exuding the confidence of someone in authority, the NMA director walked through the lobby with several people trailing behind him. He was focused straight ahead, so I thought he wouldn't see me.
But even if he did, so what? I hadn't done anything wrong. Why did these two need to block me anyway? I never mentioned to anyone that I had met the director before. Did they somehow already know?
Suddenly, the group stopped. Alistair turned towards us, and his stern expression changed when he met my gaze. He wasn't smiling before, but now there was a hint of a smile on his face.
However, my attention was drawn to two pairs of eyes staring at me. I frowned, trying to recall where I had seen those faces. Then the cameras outside flashed again. I remembered.
They were the twins surrounded by reporters outside the UAO!
