My left foot kept tapping the floor because I was anxious. I sat outside the conference room on a bench against the wall in the NSA after being summoned. I thought I was the only one there, but when I arrived, the whole team was present.
However, my anxiety didn't stem from facing the consequences of acting on my own, which had caused the entire team to disobey the NSA, ultimately leading to the worst-case scenario. I felt anxious the whole way; I should say that I felt that way from the moment I stepped out of my Sanctum, leaving Mory with a stranger I barely knew—the nanny.
"Sir Jade, are you very nervous?" Patrick, an NSA employee, noticed my shaking knee. "Even though you didn't follow the protocols, it was still because of you that the NSA discovered the enemies hiding within itself."
That didn't help at all. If everyone knew that I was to blame, then those wanting revenge would certainly come after me.
